The lazy buggers didn't show up on Friday either. Apparently they're going to show up Monday & be done by teatime.
The pool light has 10 screws & tabs to clamp the light fitting to the part in the pool wall. There's a 1/2in thick rubber gasket doohicky betweem that keeps the water out & the electricity in.
The two parts are held together by 10 small brass tabs secured by 1/2in 10-24 screws. The tabs & screws were completely seized together. Online search finds the brass tabs are $18 EACH, but I can find the screws for 22c each. Almost removed a thumb trying to separate the crews from the tabs.
Decided to give them on overnight soak in Kroil (what WD40 wants to be when it grows up, go buy some)
This morning it was a doddle to crack the screws loose & separate them by finger pressure.
Spiffy light bulb showed up along with new rubber gasket for the fitting yesterday.

Six guys showed up with about 60 trowels between them. This is one of six similar buckets...

This is the sample they made on the spot before starting:

Done by noon. I'll start filling it late tonight. Once it's full one guy comes back to put some acid in the water which removes the haze from the finish, that's why it looks dirty right now. (same principle as removing the haze from tile after you get done grouting). Then next mon or tues our regular pool guy comes over to adjust the Ph & turn on the pumps & filters etc.

Depends on the local water company. Ours doesn't, but the next nearest one does & at bulk rates.... They won't deliver here even though they're only a couple of miles away..
If you use tankers you can fill a 50k gal pool in an hour.

This is where we're at after 10 hours..... & it's going to take all fucking day at this rate. It looks like it went up maybe 1ft between 3 & 6am

19in to go.

I don't understand how it can be cheaper to deliver water in a tanker rather than through pipes already installed. Strange people.
Your water pressure is better than mine, it takes me all day to fill up my pool which is a fraction of the size of yours.

Domestic vs Bulk rates.
Pressure has dropped right off since last night now every bugger is up & taking a shower, plus early morning sprinkler systems. At my old place the water pressure was often around 140psi, kept the plumbers busy fixing pipes... Twice I rinsed a coffee mug under the tap & was left holding the handle with no mug attached..

Current rate of fill puts it around 12.30-1pm to the full mark (plus the hot tub part)

Well damn, I must have remembered some HS math. 12.30 estimate was pretty much right on the money, turned the water off at 12.32 Hot tub filled via the equalizer doodad, pool dude showed up & put 5 gallons of acid in the pool.
Even had a Blue Belly show up to check it out.

Can't actually use it until some time next week. It's getting all new filter set up next week, but we'll run it with the old set up for a while to get all the snarge caught in the old filters, not the spiffy new set up.
