In a similar way to other shellfish. If alive, possibly OK, if dead, do you know the history of their harvesting and storage.

Tree pollen in a puddle.

My work van has been covered in the stuff for the last week.
Seems to be a lot from the Rowen trees cos I flicked the flowerhead with my finger yesterday and it released a little cloud of pollen.
