My gf and I have bought a few items of bike gear the last couple of years, and we always upgrade the armour to level2 or better quality (thinner) equivalent armour (I still have plenty of Hein Gericke Hiprotec and she likes the D3O Ghost).
But does anyone have any suggestions for what to do with the usable, but chunky, pieces that have been replaced? We've got about 20 pieces now!
What to do with "cheaper" armour?

I repurposed some old body armour (knees, elbows, shouklers) as snowboarding protection many years ago (when my knees still worked). You could also use the knee protectors as knee pads for building work (tile laying etc.) with careful use of gaffa tape...
That's about the best I can come up with.
