Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
eBay idiots. I have an item listed, it has a reserve. Someone sent me a message
"Hi, so that I won’t waste your time, what is the reserve price. And would you consider an offer?
Kind regards,"
If you want it, bid what you're prepared to pay. If I wanted people to know what the reserve is then I would say so I'm the listing. If you want to make an offer than do so, the worst that can happen if I decline.
Of course I have now wasted me time complaining about it on here

What's the least you'll take then?

I've got two new drills but no batteries. My mate said he has spares and will drop me one round. I said thanks no rush, whenever you're passing. He only lives round the corner, how can he not have passed by in a week or more!

What's the point of a reserve? If you want it to sell you just stick a starting price on it without the cloak and dagger, are you just testing the water to see what people would bid?Druid wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 12:35 pm eBay idiots. I've just finished replacing my pool plumbing with new hoses, 38 connections. I thought troubleshooting would be easy, look for water coming out and fix it. Nope, I have air leaks and not a clue where it's getting in.

Why do I bother flogging stuff on FB buy and sell, local market place. FFS , I’ve got an old 42 inch plasma up for sale locally and somebody from 4hrs+ travelling is asking me what my best offer is for it today………..

The complete and utter clusterfuck and contract bitching that is causing our IT to be down for 5+ days. We are so reliant on a network connection that we can’t even use the printer on the other side of office……. It’s not like we’re a piece of national critical infrastructure, oh wait!

Miserable old gits.
We were invited to a pal of Pen's 65th birthday drinks earlier. She's just beat a 3 year battle with cancer.
25c with light cloud so we could sit on the patio without needing brollies. With a free bar.
But nothing stopped a few of the old fuckers moaning about everything. Constantly.
That bar is one that I don't frequent normally coz of the clientele. But surely they could have stayed happy to make Jill happy while they enjoyed the free bar.
Rant over.

It shows the sort of customers they get, probably aimed at the regulars.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Took a call from a mate's wife a few minutes ago. I'd worked with him for 25 years and he retired early in March aged 56. Had plans to buy a place in Spain, sold his house bought a crash pad over here, had it all lined up. Looked like a new man in his final weeks at work. Smiling from ear to ear.
He's just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Knowing how quick and horrible if was for my late brother in law, I know things aren't looking good for him.
Fuck me, life can play some fucking twisted games sometimes.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
So grocery shopping, this one has a 2 conveyor belt system to each register so if someone is slow at bagging or whatever they can serve another customer, OK somewhat in pre Covid times. Now the shop has a limit on people in the shop, has arrows on the floor in the aisles as a one way type system so we don't have to pass people with in 6 foot, signage all around about keeping space etc. the register girls all have plexiglass sneeze shields and we have to queue up in one line to be called up to pay, sounds good right? so why the fuck do they call me up to pay when there is still someone packing up their shopping and they want me to stand 3 feet away on the other conveyor, not fucking happening. Now I just let the wife unload and I just wait out the way until it's clear to pack, annoys them no end.

My sister had it, 50th birthday party on the Saturday, cancer diagnosis on the Monday. There's different types, the version she had has a far better survival rate. She had the Whipple Procedure which is standard, but 5 years later she's good. Lots of pills to keep her going, hopefully she'll live to a decent age.

Sorry to hear about your mate.
As a general point, totally agree. It's the old 'men plan, gods laugh'. You can't know what tomorrow will bring, good or bad.
