MoniMoto GPS Tracker

Post by ajlog »

I’ve always had the impression that GPS trackers were a nice to have accessory but expensive and really only for high value machines.
Then I saw this and looked up a few reviews and videos and decided that it looked good value (£135) and had some good points that were what I wanted.

It doesn’t have a monitored service like some of the top end units, but that means the annual connection cost is much less (about £30) for the data connection only.
It doesn’t need to be wired to the bike battery, so no risk of draining the battery.
It’s relatively small and easy to locate.
It’s a simple basic motion detector / GPS tracker that can be swapped from bike to bike if necessary.

I like the idea of having my bike monitored when in the garage so if it’s moved I will be notified, then if its taken I will be able to track it’s whereabouts.
Then there’s the times when out and about, I don’t like to carry a big lock about, so most of the time when I park up I like to be close even within sight of my bike, but this will give me a bit more peace of mind that should the bike get touched I’ll get a call.

Hopefully I won’t be reporting on it’s effectiveness any time soon, but it helps give peace of mind.
