He has to leave Moto3 next year and can't see a Moto2 team fancying him.

It's a shame because he's a good rider, he appears to try too hard to be up the front in the early part of the race, I don't think this is necessary in Moto 3, as other people appear to be able to work their way up through the field.

I wonder if he's feeling pressure to get good results so he can get a Moto 2 ride. It looks like his problems are "head problems" rather than riding problems.

Dare i say he knows he is on a last chance in a good team in Moto3.....He needs to show he can move to Moto2 as he is now too old for Moto3 so might be additional pressure. His current team have seats filled for Moto2 next year so he cant progress through them at the moment

He knows he can work through the field from 10th or 14th as he has done it before but the bit of the mind fuck might be making him try and stick with Acosta and Binder early on as one is the hot ticket and the other is on the same bike

Very cautious at the start to make sure he avoided the carnage which dropped him through the order ...... could have been a podium otherwise
