Superchargers are ok if you have a lot of disposable the trick which Alpina pull off brilliantly is the Superchrger that is very fuel efficient they manage that by making the charger as light as a turbo still driven all the time and not dependant on exhaust gasses to make it go round. the charger on big jags for instance sap 25%!!! of the engines power they're so heavy to spin. I get 32 mpg out of my Alpina B5 thats 4.4 litre and 500 BHP so 34mpg out of a 1000cc motor and keb weight of 240 kg is pretty crap IMO the charger on the B5 is circa £5K and they do let go sometimes...forwarned. though TRICKYS H2 is sex on two wheels.

I had a 1.6 mini with a roots supercharger and struggled to get more than 27mpg. You must be driving that B5 like Miss Daisy.

thats with the odd floor plant but it really does do that at 70-80 mph on The motorway. if you have a silly half hour it does drop dramatically but in real world driving somewhere its pretty acceptableKungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 9:49 pm I had a 1.6 mini with a roots supercharger and struggled to get more than 27mpg. I can get 40mpg out of my 'turbo' 1.6 mini on the commute.
My 3l NA BMW would only get above 30mpg in 50mph road works. It averaged 19mpg!
Alpina must be magicians!

Is the Kwak direct injection? That'll be the difference. Much much higher pressure.

Buggery bollocks. KMUSA only lists 101ft/lb, but not how many ponies it has

My 1.2 Fabia is mapped to 140bhp, I average about 48mpg and I'm not shy about booting it on.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 9:55 pm I can get 40mpg out of my 'turbo' 1.6 mini on the commute.

Could get more ponies but it'd need a bigger intercooler.

My 1.6 makes 211bhp from the factory. A Stage 1 remap would see 250bhp... but then you start to worry the clutch.
