User ban : Keep your racist comments to yourselves !

Hey, i'm not one to judge, if some of you are racists that's OK, i can't make your decisions in life for you..... But they won't be accepted out here on the forum, not now, not ever... No sir, no way.

So after the rubbish posted by Asian Boss the other day he was given a warning...

Then ZRX61 comes in and throws in a race bomb this morning... He's been given 7 days off. If it wasn't for the fact i'd closed a thread recently for the exact same shit, then he may have only got 1 day or a warning, but coming straight in with shit like this just after i closed a thread, you're taking the piss out of me and the forum and i'm not accepting it.

No comments about the lack of mask from shoppers, staff or the many security peeps patrolling the place... altho to be fair, the security guards seem unable to notice white people & are usually seen profiling/shadowing the less pale among us.

So, just to make things clear here to all of you.

RACIST comments even when hidden, veiled, clouded, won't be accepted. You WILL get banned, simple as that. If you don't like this, fuck off and go somewhere else, anywhere else, i simply don't care where. This isn't a discussion, a debate and i'm not open to interpretation on it...

Your forum, your rules. I don't know what those banned said, nor the context, so I will assume you know what you are about.

However PLEASE don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Racism is wrong, no ifs or buts, skin colour has absolutely no place in judging folks, but if we can't TALK about it nothing will ever change. And we do need to change, in UK society and in most other societies too. This place is already very civilized, some might say sanitized, compared to the other place. I would hate to see another whole raft of ideas/opinions on the proscribed list.

My point is, even if there's racial profiling by a security guard, unless you're actively looking in a racist context how would you know ? You can't see what a security guy is staring at. It's someones beliefs that's what he's doing.

There's no place for the comment, it was completely irrelevant to the thread, the topic and was purely in a context of race IMO

I've said it before and i'll repeat it again.

This place isn't the old Visordown, it's not the old TRC either. For better or worse we're sticking to our guns on this forum. In the last place people were hounded, abused, berated, newbies were dissed instantly and made unwelcome and bullying was rife on the forum. That's unacceptable for me and by allowing 1 part, 1 aspect, you're putting the noose around your own neck to allow the next bit then the next bit etc.

This forum will remain a welcome, friendly place...

Yes he does like to stir,but we all do that with friends on occasion. He's a flavour and a character,I don't espouse some of his views,but I think tongue is firmly lodged in cheek in this instance.
I fully support Weeksy and how the forum is managed and I'm happy we are able to talk about things like this. I'm a member of a certain guitar forum where it's an instant ban to question a mod at all.

OK, so after discussions on this thread i've lowered ZRX61's ban to a 24 hour ban. I still believe the comments of 'chocolate face' cannot be allowed here.

Asian Boss was never on a ban, only a system warning. That still stands and will expire in 30 days. However, as much as some of you find his comments amusing and acceptable, doesn't mean i do. Tongue in cheek doesn't always make things right IMO.
