When I used to do chalet work here, the companies used to buy that kind of sausage in bulk so we could do an "English" breakfast!!weeksy wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:34 pmDid you make the dog say "Walls"Yorick wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:30 pm Most days I go for 5 mile walk on sea front then have a nice full English.
They usually add an individually wrapped biscuit by the coffee
No biscuit today
Just been to pay and they said "sorry we've no biscuits for the dog today "
Oops.
But they did cook him his own sausage instead

Whilst that may be sausage shaped and may well be lovely to the dog... That's REALLY not a sausage.... i can't even imagine what percentage of meat is in that.
Over the years, more than a couple of chalet managers were heard to say "the normal sausages are basically vegetarian due to the tiny amount of actual meat in them"

Fixed office software issue on Church PC and then went to a funeral. Fetched wife in torrential rain to save her from taking the bus. Coffee and chocolate when I got her home. Now to start writing sermons for next weeks service and the week after that.

Removed a patch of grass about 3mtr wide and a mtr deep, then weed mat and blue slate spread over. Looks a lot better, then built a wooden planter ready to go on the other bit of grass that’s coming up when it stops raining!!

Went on a bit of a mercy mission last night, daughter 1 was complaining that her brand new washing machine wasn’t draining and she’d nigh on flooded the kitchen having to use the pump bypass hose to drain it.
Both her boyfriend and his dad* had already taken a look and couldn’t work out what was going on so financial adviser dad was called in.
Imagine the smug look on my face when I retrieved a stop end / blanking plug from inside the main drain hose and declared job done in 5 mins I doubt she’s stopped ribbing them about it yet.

At Tesco bright and early to get StepMothers vittles and then off to Romford to deliver them. As it was sunny I dropped the roof on the way home and played The Jams greatest hits rather loudly. Nice start to the day!

Added a user defined field to the SAP B1 Item Master data and made it appear in the UI.
Which has pleased me greatly as it's really simple, but up until 20 mins ago I had no idea how to do it.

Turned things off at work for people to dig ballast and bash rails, then turned things back on again. Something turned itself off so I turned it back on again. The early turn arrived and I went home.
Discovered the Amtico floor colour/pattern we want doesn't come in barn wood finish which is boring so we'll have to pick another floor colour. It took us 3 months to find the one "we" like.
Slept, going to walk dogs after a coffee and then off to work for a 12hr shift and interview preparation if it's quiet.

Some friends came round this morning so he could put the microwave holder on the wall!! Woohoo, more space!!
Now, when I go to the valley tomorrow I have to get some stuff that means I can fix the extra bit of worksurface in place then I can move things around and enjoy the extra space to put cooking stuff!!

Overslept! Haven't been sleeping well for ages and I didn't even feel tired last night, so I sat up watching music vids and drank about half a dozen large G&Ts! I actually feel more tried for a good nights sleep than a bad nights one!

Re: What have you done today thread?
I went back to the office for a day this week, the first time since March 2020. I am free to manage my own phased return, so I'll be doing two days next week, maybe three the next etc.
I was great! It's different as there are no communal spaces so you can't grab a coffee with a friend and you have to eat at your desk or outside. Masks are to be worn when you're moving about. I like going to work and I like coming home after a long day so hopefully, I'll be back in the office full time within a month and I will always have the choice to wfh or go in - happy days.

Big magnet and a length of string! Crack open a beer while your fishing.Potter wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 10:17 am Went for breakfast with Mrs Potter then did some work on my boat.
I dropped my socket wrench over the side so put my snorkel on and dived for it in just over 4m of water but I couldn't find it and in the end my ears kept popping and I just know I'm going to have an ear infection now

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had a call from the wife.
Car is making a hissing noise and there's a light on to say the passenger airbag has failed!
So I tell her to stop and try restarting the car.
She stops. The car won't restart.
Bugger.
Get her to ring Toyota recovery and they send the AA out.
Turns out you can't start an automatic Aygo with it in gear (just like every other auto) and that light is always on to tell you the airbag is enabled.
Wimmin!

Steam exiting her ears cos KFB chose the car for her. I wouldn't want to be in Bobs boots tonight!
