One of the engines I like, mostly because I had the 900cc version. How have they managed to get it to run properly with pod filters on the original carbs? It really did need the airbox. And the exhaust looks a bit short, what's going to happen to the underneath of the seat, apart from it being heat damaged?

I quite like the look, not so sure about them removing the triangulation from the rear subframe.
Might be fine but I'm not sure I'd want to blat down a bumpy road on it.
Also I understand that airboxes on bikes that have had significant alterations to the rear subframe and then the addition of a monoshock can be a lot different from the original but surely we're getting to the point where people can make one up?
Maybe 3D print a mold to make carb rubbers or ratch through the carb rubber collection they have left over from all the other cafe racers?

Dunno, I like it but a lot of these specials seem to fall at the same hurdle.

Oh and the lotus seed pod silencer looks well dodgy.

The airbox was more than just a filter holder IIRC, it acted as a plenum chamber too. Something to do with the CV, rather than slide, carbs.

It's a long time since I looked into removing the airbox from mine and decided against it. It already had an antisocial lifesaving Alfa 4 into 1 on it.

I don't think it matters if it runs or not, and if it does you're not going to want to go far or very fast, the low front and high rear will make it handle like a shopping trolley, 40 year old bikes with short modern forks doesn't work, jacking the back end up makes it worse

It's quite nice as an ornament. I can't see it being either practical or fun to ride.

An exercise in form over function,which is fine if that was the intention.

That's not a 40 year old frame though is it? I'd guess that as well as the rear end being modified that the front would have geometry to make more usable than when it left the factory. We don't know, but I won't accuse it of being un-rideable.
The seat height to bar height isn't that radical, but I don't know why they insist on the bike being on a paddock stand for the side view which doesn't help.

Got a mate with a GS 1000 that put USD forks and GSXR wheels on it but he was bright enough to use the 1100 forks that were a bit longer.
Turned out pretty good actually.

1100s have the clipons above the yoke, if you fit the forks flush with the top yokes they're approximately 1" shorter than the original forks, this works, if you fit 750 forks, they're 2" shorter, this doesn't work, the front end tips into corners too quickly, it's not dangerous , but it isn't good and you seriously reduce cornering clearance, jacking the back end up improves clearance, but makes it more tippy.

I've ridden enough modified big Suzukis and Kawasakis to know what works, GS thous are better with short forks than Kawasakis, mostly because they're a better handling bike standard.

I've not ridden a modified CB750/900 so it might be fine, but I doubt it.

I think the bike in this thread looks good, apart from the exhaust, but I don't want to ride it.
