You could take the fairing off and fit flat bars

Didn't you have a Varadero?

I did have a 'Dero. Great bike it was too.

Swapped it for a Tiger 800XC, which I didn't like anywhere near as much.

Firestorm is a good choice then, very similar engine.

Just popped in Lings where you got your Tiger from, all new staff since the last time I went in there, they ignored me, so I won't be bothering with them again, they can go fuck themselves.

I always get ignored in bikes shops.

I must look more like a time waster than a buyer. There's only one bike shop that knew me by name and treated me alright (I did buy three bikes in a row from them, I took my R6 in for service and the sales guy gave me a lift back to town on a TLR!!!), but they went down the pan a bit and now sell more cars than bikes.

I much preferred the gen1 over the gen2. It was bigger and more substantial. It pulled like a bloody train and was a great ride.

I have been looking at R1's too.

That looks pretty good for the money. The really early ones seem to be going up in value.

I've looked at Busa's too.

for me it's one of those bikes to own before you die, I dunno about this time, but deffo at some point.

I've also never seen a tall Busa rider. They seem to max out at 5'3".... it's almost like they have something to prove :)

I do want one but I'd need to live somewhere else with a garage and have time to ride it .

In a way it doesn't matter what you buy, many of my best bikes have been impulse purchases. And as Iccy says you can pretty much sell anything on for what you paid for it these days.

If you really want that Ducati, fuck the budget and buy it. You're only middle aged once.

Apparently the TLS wasn't the original Suzuki Widow Maker, the K was.
The K was Suzuki fixing a problem that wasn't there to try to keep up with the FZR1000. All they had to do was put 17 inch wheels on the Slabside , maybe do some cosmetic work and put the 1127 in, but they fucked about and made a nearly different bike that wasn't as good as the old one. Not that the K was a bad handler, it just needed careful setting up as Joe Public hadn't a clue what all the turney things were for on the forks and shock. Being a bigger bloke helped. Ditto the TL-S, if you were a big bloke, it behaved itself. Neither were killers compared to something like an old GSX1100.

I'd have both in a heartbeat.
