Today was some riding some jumping.
Not the best video taking by my lad, but I cleared the jump
Awesome fun.

Re: 2020 mileage, riding, days out update
Had a big day out (for me) yesterday, 35 miles and 4600ft of climbing. Slow day today.

Re: 2020 mileage, riding, days out update
I don't know about annual milage, but I've just started riding again.
Without overstating it, Covid19 has been good for my health. I've been motivated by all the health talk and morbidity figures so got the mountain bike out a few weeks back.
Nothing dramatic, but I am enjoying it. Aiming for 250km a month as a minimum. Not sure if this is too low, but it seems achievable. Been told it takes 6 weeks to get the cycling bug again and I'm week 3.
Long, long way to go but i am feeling fitter, thinner and start to get grumpy if I've not been out. I could do with a comfier seat and I've no way of telling if my full sus is still sus enough.
Happy to be motivated by your Strada rides if you want to share. Enjoy the weather
P.S you've probably all already read it, but will recommend 'The Escape Artist' by Matt Seaton.

Do a YouTube or Google of Shockwiz. Crust has my one and we can ship over, or maybe even do a ride and I'll show you it and we'll configure your suspension

30 mile ride today with Lady and the ebike. All back lanes, some I'd never rode before. However, possibly a bit too far and now, lady with the ebike has got a dodgy knee.

Stunning day out there, sunny, dry, but damn it's bumpy at times.

Short gentle one today, it's 1/2 term so have a few days off and today was picnic on the top of the hill where we scattered my mums ashes. My lad took one of his Ninjago Lego men to look after and protect his Nana.

Awesome ride today with a mate and my boy over at Irchester Country PArk, there's nothing fast, nothing jumpy, but it's techie, roty, twisty, uppy, downy fun, just a sort of trials style rather then BPW fun, picking your way through roots, up down and round trees, ridges and hills, ace fun.. We both really enjoyed ourselves.

Re: 2020 mileage, riding, days out update
Left home at quarter to seven this morning, with bike in the back of the van. Drove up to The Yorkshire Bridge Inn and parked up. 4 hours later I'm back at the van.
Smashed out a 42 mile loop. Up the rocky climb behind the Ladybower Inn, across to Cutthroat Bridge, up to the top of Whinstone Lee Tor, across and down the slabs and along the side of the Derwent Reservoir....
..to the bottom of Cut Gate, up to the top of Cut Gate.....
Over the tops to North America, overlooking Langsett Reservoir...
..back over the tops to Cut Gate and then the nicely gnarly descent down to Derwent Reservoir, back along the other side of Derwent Reservoir, up Lockerbrook and along the screaming mile the wrong way to Hagg Side Farm, down to the A6 and back to the van.
Don't know how much climbing I did exactly as I'm no Strava warrior, but the route guide for Cut Gate https://flattyres-mtb.co.uk/route-guide ... /cut-gate/ suggests you climb from about 800 feet to about 1,700 feet, twice, and I did another couple of comparable climbs to get to the top of Whinstone Lee Tor and Hagg Side so It's got to be knocking on 4,000 foot of up.
It was just starting to get busy as I was heading back over Cut Gate. Just the right side of being too hot on the tops, you're pretty exposed up there with no shade whatsoever and any hotter would have been a problem.
1 battery totally flat and the 2nd battery down 1 bar of 5. Home, shower, kit in washing machine, pizza, bike cleaned, lubed and checked. Happy days.

Re: 2020 mileage, riding, days out update
Swinley Forest yesterday with Crust, just a great little ride as always. Love the place and out in the Crowthorne part it was very very quiet.
Today was a morning solo ride, some roads and some woods. Had fun racing a few roadies. One came last when I was cruising through a village and I shot after him and caught him, then sat on his wheel for a few mins just to prove I could. Lol
