Mine yesterday, woke up for 20sec in the night with a sweat, but feel fine and dandy.
Arguably a tiny bit of an ache in my arm, but nothing really.

Re: Covid Vaccine Side Effects
Well since about 2pm I've been feeling decidedly rough. Not quite dragging myself to bed rough, but I've done very little other than lying on sofa

Sounds just about exactly the symptoms Isabella got from the AZ vaccine, she was back to normal within 48hrs.weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:09 amStill not exactly feeling ideal. sweaty then cold, headache, achey all over... just a bit shite really.
I didn't feel any different at all, couldn't even feel where they put it in my arm

Re: Covid Vaccine Side Effects
I've felt worse after a night at Pembrey so it's no biggy... Just all a bit bleurgh and meh at the moment. Probably not helped by the fact i'm on my 2nd 5-2 day of fasting either this week. Which may or may not be my brightest idea i admit.Tricky wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:28 amSounds just about exactly the symptoms Isabella got from the AZ vaccine, she was back to normal within 48hrs.

The other thing i've had is a lot of crazy dreams i the last 2 nights, the sort where you end up half awake/asleep but you're not really sure what's reality or not any more.

Yup I had some odd am I awake or asleep dreams. I felt like I had a Korma flu ie definitely a curry, but not a real one. Felt shit from 2am morning after to the following morning then back to normal.weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 9:07 am I've felt worse after a night at Pembrey so it's no biggy... Mrs just had the AZ shot about half hour ago. Burds are tough as nails so she'll probably be fine.

I'm wondering if there's a connection between how rough you feel after the vaccine and how hard you'd be hit by covid proper. It might mean the people getting side effects were the ones that benefit most.

I'd expect that's quite a decent question and one that you'd think 'they' are asking in the same context. I'm actually kinda surprised we as a population don't have some way of recording our results on the whole to give an indication.
FWIW, i feel a bucket load better than i did at 7am... i may even jump on the Zwift bike this afternoon for a gentle one.

The population does indeed have a way of recording results of how they feel!weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 12:48 pmI'd expect that's quite a decent question and one that you'd think 'they' are asking in the same context. For many months I've used the ZOE Covid App run by Tim Spector, Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at KCL, which is used by over 4.5m in the UK (for both iPhone and Android phones).

The bottom line is you can’t gauge how well the vaccine is working within your body based on what you can detect from the outside. Different people do mount stronger or weaker immune responses to a vaccine, but post-shot side effects won’t tell you which you are. It’s the second, adaptive immune response that helps your body gain vaccine immunity, not the inflammatory response that triggers those early aches and pains.

A few days ago they announced that ex-pats over 60 are now entitled to a free jab. Just called them and I'm booked in Monday

Re: Covid Vaccine Side Effects
Had my second jab yesterday. No side effects that i've noticed
After the first I was wiped out for about 36 hours - a friend was the same
We both had the second yesterday and he feels totally rubbish today. I'm fine! Weird!

Had my first Oxford jab about an hour ago, starting to feel a bit funny... But I am sat in the garden on my 3rd pint of Juplier.

Had second Pfizer last Friday. Sore arm for a day or two and that was it. Same as the first time around.

God was on your side. I'm an atheist and I had the same side effects for both Pfizer jabs, so just goes to show that God isn't prejudiced. Maybe.the_priest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 6:35 pm Had second Pfizer last Friday. Sore arm for a day or two and that was it. Same as the first time around.
