Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.

Post by Yorick »

Only a few bars are open here for many reasons. Lucky for me, my fave 3 are open. Two owned by biker pals and one by a lady I've known for years. All struggling, so I wander about and have a couple here and there.

Tonight I did the long dog walk and popped into one of them for a couple, and a mate popped in. We had 4 or 5 each, and as we were leaving, the owner bought us a beer each. They'd barely took 50€ all night, but appreciated us staying for a few.

Doing this regularly with my boy is just fantastic. Watching him show a complete lack of fear, incredible.

I guess familiarity breeds contempt is the phrase. Not in a bad way but in the context that I've seen him jump stuff I cannot jump so many times that him doing stuff has now become insignificant to me, I just give a wry smirk and laugh inside each time. But I love watching him and his mate pushing eachother to do bigger and better style jumps on study, their thought process, their mindset, its proper funny. It also gives me a massive sense of pride too of course

Driving a convertible. I love open top motoring!!! Just been out for a drive, go to the village shop and took the long way home with the roof down! I know exactly why Tiepin says that.

Friends. My mate and his family (my Goddaughters) just pulled up to say hello. Haven't seen them since before lockdown. Doorbell rang and there they were at the end of my path. :)

You saying that i got two new tires on the front of my works van two weeks ago. Its like driving a new van :D Funny how you get used to something wearing slowly and just find it the norm.
I often wonder how many Ohlins shocks and fork revalves are sold when a few minutes checking tyres now and again would have fixed the 'problems'!

Still hearing the cuckoo calling when you stick your head out of the window in the morning, weeks after I first heard it this year! Hadn’t heard a cuckoo for years when we were living in a town!

Years ago I borrowed a mates RG125 for the day. After I gave it back he asked me "have you tuned it, it's so quick off the mark now". No mate, I lubed and adjusted your chain !

Watching the local Raptors on the Downs, yesterday I watched a small one flying up the bridleway in front of me with a small rodent in its claws. Awesome.

Washing the sheets, drying the sheets and being able to put them straight back on the bed without having to iron them. :D

The last time I ironed anything, was a shirt for my mum's funeral, 10 years ago.

Not even sure if we have an iron in the villa.

Oh some things just have to be ironed but I’m not as bad as my Mum. She used to iron my Dad’s socks! :wtf:

Pen hangs stuff on the line, then straight onto hangers in wardrobe. No ironing necessary.
