The other thing I had to do was take a look at the front brake pads. Way easier & much reduced faffery when you can just poke the end of the boroscope under the bottom of the caliper & look at the wear slot on the pad.
Also used it to look at a zit in my ear yesterday.

Lots of people have fitted ZX9 clocks & stick coils etc to their R's.. along with ZX14 front ends as that nice Mr Stites makes the triples to take the ZX14 forksKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 10:08 pm On a semi-related note.
I've been looking on UK t'bay, the ZRX-R's are 50% more expensive than the ZRX-S', same miles/year.
I've also been googling the difference between the S and the R.
It seems you can convert an S to an R using 2nd bits for a few hundred quid, if you don't mind using the S clocks with the R's bikini fairing.
What's that all about then?

The issue with the OEM tensioner is that it allows part of it to hit the clutch basket & eventually it all goes pear shaped. Looking at mine it's apparent that it had touched a few times, but some of them look WAY worse. The small hinged bit the arm goes through at the bottom breaks & then it grenades like in the previous carnage pic.. Some have thrown parts forward into the crank with predictable results.

His latest doodads are brackets to use the original ZRX front fender with upside down forks.
