Couple of teenage girls have a great scam going. Order an Uber then taze the driver and nick his car. last time they did it, they ended up killing him; crushed by his own car.

Probably won't hear too much about it. The ethnicity of the offenders does not fit the media narrative.

The point I am making in this discussion regarding (let's say) the accidental shooting of a known criminal with an active arrest warrant against him is that there is no reason for us to be discussing it AT ALL other than the fact that he happened to be black and it fits the media narrative.

Out of interest, did you find any further info on those girls about their previous form for car jacking?

I don't know exactly how widespread that information may be. I would expect a simple search to come up with it...

Murder a pensioner and they shouldn't go to jail?
What about a toddler? Jamie Bulgers killers went to jail.

A would have though a more appropriate charge for this case would have been man slaughter, but I'm not up on high the yanks differentiate between the 2.
I certainly wouldn't compare the Bulger case with this one, although in Mr.Longbeard's kingdom Bulgers killers would have been put to death once they were of age.

I'd love for you to point out to me where I said I wouldn't jail these 2 teenagers, because I sure as hell can't ever recall saying as such.

My response was at the outrage that they weren't instantly going to jail right now, and I stand by it, that they should be held in care until they are capable of being jailed is where I would go with this, the deal they were offered was far too lenient IMHO.

Did you know about the Uber murder?

I barely knew there was a presidential change in the US, using me to gauge whether something made mainstream news or not is absolutely pointless.

The only politics/news i read is when people start threads on it here. Every now and again something comes up on the cycling forums, but i rarely open it. I only read the BBC for football/weather (and recently about Euro flights, but i've given up on that). Mrs Weeksy used to quiz me at times about who's who in the world of politics etc, a couple of times i even got the current prime minister incorrect. That's how clued up i am.

So no, i didn't know someone random had been killed by someone. I still don't even know what country it was in, let alone any more about them. However if it was America, you can bet your arse he wasn't the only one murdered that day, be them white, black or everything else.

I assume the "Uber murder" wasn't caught on camera either so doesn't provide the same level of ready made content. Driver is screaming for help, leaning out of the door, girls drive off lose control and he is crushed to death.

While he lies dying on the side of the road having been thrown out, one of the girls steps over him to get her phone out of the car.

It really beggars belief and is a sharp contrast to the unfortunate (unfortunately stupid) police officer who shot a criminal trying to escape. She was obviously distressed by the realisation she had shot someone. Unlike those girls who, like the mainstream media, really could not care less.
