Not really in honesty as i think that wouldn't give me the speedblocks etc at the bottom ? i always assume wrapping is single colour in that context, i don't need it to be temporary, if i go for it, i'll happily go all in.

That's the 700 tho'
The tank shape is different on the 900, it might look quite so good?
You need someone good with potatoshop to mock it up.

If you want to see your panels again this year don't use Flying Tiger, his work is superb, but his ability to deliver is appalling.

All those Sky vans, taxis etc. you see covered in adverts are wrapped, you can get really complicated stuff.

Got a local guy quoting me tomorrow for paint. In the ideal world I'd have a spare set to get painted but they're impossible to find

Re: Paintwork, tank panels, who to use ?
So painting was £250-300 for the tank panels
Wrapping was £200. I do worry with wrapping about longevity and alignment. However, i do worry with painting regarding using my standard panels.

I had a look the otherday on the Fowlers webshite, the stock panels are £250 a side already painted.

Put it back to standard when you sell it and get best part of your money back on the spare set. Seems a much better idea to me?

Re: Paintwork, tank panels, who to use ?
I'm not convinced a dealer would care if it's standard, plus, ridiculous as it may seem, i'm not planning on flogging it.

I don't know where you are but I had a super job done on my Guzzi V50 a couple of years ago by a chap in the West Midlands. He does take his time however.
I think it was about £300 for tank, mudguards, side panels and bits and bobs. He was doing a 1980s Suzuki when I visted him and it was absolutely stunning.

Re: Paintwork, tank panels, who to use ?
Well currently i won't be going down the wrapping route.
I had multiple emails with these guys at the weekend.
https://www.bossdog.co.uk/vehicle-wraps ... cle-wraps/
Well i say multiple mails, they were 100 word mails from me and 5-6 words each time from them in reply. They seem to have an amazing website, pretty graphics etc... but their communications were, shall we say, a little lacking.
If we could have got the same quality of covering as the paint, but in a removable wrap, i'd have jumped on it... but with crap replies, i'd rather just go with the paint instead.
My big question is, if i do the paint where do i draw the line on this one.
Really things like the radiatior side covers, the mudguard brackets, the seat brackets etc all should be powdered/anodised. If we're going to put effort in, then really the front mudguard needs changing too, but would i just go gloss black which will match the gloss on the tank, or does it need a Ducati Corse type stripe using the grey that'll be on the tank. So many questions and currently so few answers.

RE wrapping - I stumbled across this bloke in Uxbridge yesterday whilst looking for something else- no experience of him, dreadful design website, but has a fair amount of info, and an XSR on there

Re: Paintwork, tank panels, who to use ?
That's useful but actually in a bad way, well, bad for wrapping anyway.
With the YAMAHA being raised, along with the striping on mine, that's all going to show on the wrap, you can see it on his, where the underneath YAMAHA shows even though the current decal is similar. Once you add in the pinstripe on mine, then it's going to look bloody rubbish.
The whole logic behind this would be to make things look better, not worse.

Re: Paintwork, tank panels, who to use ?
if there's any 'steps' in the paint or decals, etc.. then you'll see them as ridges in the wrap. When I tried it on the BRB this surprised me as I thought it would hide patches of missing paint, etc.. but there was an obvious step in the wrap.
If you were wrapping over a raised decal it would be very obvious.

I have one.. But sometimes we want something a bit 'different' and you can't get different without something happening to do that.
