Nowadays it just seems like a good way to add weight exactly where you don't want it.


I "get" spoked wheels on proper offroad bikes cos they have a bit of give and are very forgiving and maintainable.
But they are heavier, its a trade off and yeah I have heard of tubeless spoked wheels as well.


On a proper roadbike? I reckon that ship has sailed a long time ago.

The Kineo ones are designed in such a way that you can use tubeless tyres.
I was going to put them on my LC but IIRC they're a tad heavier than the Brembo wheels I have on, and it would have been a faff making spacers and caliper bracket, so I didn't bother.

Just a quick Google and no idea if this is correct.

2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 bare wheels:
Front - 8.6lbs
Rear - 11.6lbs

So substantially heavier.

The rear seems particularly chunky compared to a conventional wheel.
