Sat in the back (cold) garden of the brother and sister in laws
Easter egg hunt
Had meat liquor for lunch
Drove the car
Watched Moto GP
Watched Harry Potter
I am done in for. Not sure how I’ll cope when I return to work

Got most of the way through fittings the new tyres. I'm struggling to get my fat fingers into the rear tyre to get the valve through the rim. I'll start again in the morning.

Sometimes it's easier to put the valve through the rim before fitting tyre.

That may be the case here. It just convinces more about the benefits of tubeless tyres.

I was ok fitting road tyres by hand, but enduro tyres have such stiff sidewalls, it's almost impossible to get yer hand in.

Yes, I've braced myself with some strong tea and back to it I go.

Got my two Pfizer covid stabbies scheduled: April 9th & 30th
CVS pharmacy has been doing the vaccines for weeks, could never get an appointment via their online crapshoot. Was at the pharmacy picking up BP meds todays & asked about it. Gal said "It refreshes at midnight, try then". Started hitting page reload at 11.59pm & at exactly midnight it loaded the scheduling page & within a few minutes I was all set. WooT!

Well that's buggered it. The valve stem isn't looking as well attached to the tube as I'd like so I'll need another tube. Ho hum.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Last night shift for 4 weeks, bought wife's anniversary present at 2300 in a quiet period and after considerable delay due to a planning cock-up I turned bits of my railway back on again. Now at home with breakfast and a cup of tea, debating about sleeping as I'm up for work at 0500 tomorrow!! ugh!! I hate short turn arounds.

Have a pork pie, then drop a couple of Surmontil-50s. You'll miss out Monday and come up smiling on Tuesday.

Ha ha, can't even take nurofen without filling in a medical questionnaire to see if we are safe to work. Anything stronger than paracetamol and they have kittens!

Sat here remembering what a lovely day we had yesterday. We sat drinking in the sun whilst the leg of lamb roasted. Now I'm looking at the same garden with snow coming down!

Started stripping down the next compressor. The big pulley was on a taper and came off easily, the small pulley was a bit more a struggle and needed some heat.
Next is to find a home for a large 3ph motor. Then I have to decide what to do with the compressor, it's bigger than I need and needs a dedicated power supply.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Been out, had hot chocolate in the sun. Came home to an email from the girl doing the intermediary thing for legal stuff for me
The solicitors haven't had a response from the fuckwit garage owner so have issued legal proceedings and a date at the beginning of May. I know this doesn't mean I'm getting the money, but at least it feels like there is movement!!!
And, he is a proper fuckwit. The claimed costs for me (on top of the claim for the money for the mini bus) are almost as much as the price of the minibus. If he'd shut down his chauvanistic ego and just cancelled the sale he would only have had to pay the cost of the minibus. Now he is being asked for costs and will have the legal costs to pay. I know I won't get everything I've claimed and it could take as long again to actually get the money from him, but, what a fuckwit!
Here's hoping that now it's going to court things will move faster!!!

A 29 cubic foot compressor powered by a 7.5hp motor. The main benefit of dismantling it is that I can easily move each individual part.cheb wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 11:15 am Started stripping down the next compressor. Discovered that part of the Pfizer vaccine is the same stuff I use as coolant in the ZRX. One of the questions was "Are you allergic to propylene glycol?"

Skin sensitisation, shortness of breath and the like when using it to top up cooling systems would be a reasonable guess.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Bit of afternoon bonding with no.2 son fitting new bodywork and graphics to his race bike.
Dealer we bought them from wanted £50 to fit the graphics!!! Feckin’ charlatan!
Two hours and a lot of cursing later £50 looks like an absolute bargain.
Mx graphics like mx tyres are truly the work of the devil
