I reckon the people who did the report sat in a room and played Angry Birds for a year.
Re: Apparently you's lot AIN'T well racist, innit?
Rhetoric, hearsay and anecdotes do not constitute evidence.
We all know humans like to form groups, we all call large similar minded groups "societies". It should come as no surprise to anyone that there remains a level of distrust against anyone "not in my group" until they have proved they are worthy. It is a darned site more difficult for blacks in a predominantly white society.
Those who suggest this is a whitewash, where is your evidence for institutional or systemic racism?? If it is so widespread it should be easy to find.
It seems to me the boot is firmly on the other foot while the mainstream media fawn over BLM/Antifa and liberals make fools of themselves trying to prove how woke they are and how sorry they are for being white.
The acceptance of critical race theory is where I draw the line. White people are automatically "racist" based on the colour of their skin. Suddenly the word no longer contains any meaning.

I've noticed that after seeing which way the winds blowing even Boris is distancing himself from the results of this report.

Go on then, wheres your evidence that the boots on the other foot, or is it just rhetoric hearsay and anecdote?
Anecdotally as a builder in the north of England I think the bit I see is racist, but upto a few years ago it was getting better. The last maybe two years? I think its getting worse over those.
Anecdotally I have a few mates who (totally unprompted as well) have said the same.

Hard to pass of the FT as being left wing or 'leftist propaganda' etc. Much as elderly, privileged white men might like to.

Whatever side you want to look at it from, it's still just an opinion.

Arguably the report has achieved exactly what the government wanted, adding credence to the false binary that underpins their culture war agenda: that the nation faces a choice between addressing racial inequalities or class disadvantage.

Like I say, the very existence of critical race theory is, in itself, evidence that "racism" according to the liberal left wing is a whites only crime. I also point out the absurdity in the logic that you can tell if someone is racist based on the colour of their skin.demographic wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 1:07 am Go on then, wheres your evidence that the boots on the other foot, or is it just rhetoric hearsay and anecdote?
You can take a degree in "why white people are racist". I shit you not.
Mathematics is "racist" because it defines rules created by white men which if you cannot follow, is proof you are being oppressed by white supremacy.
The coronavirus is racist, so is childbirth apparently. BLM/Antifa activists can go on the rampage, burning, looting and murdering in the name of "equality" and it is still "mostly peaceful" protest. These "protesters" can be caught in the act of looting, arrested and released with no charge, they are merely seeking "reparation" after all.
The old trick of trying to reflect an argument back at someone using their own words is a tired formulaic tactic which fails miserably in this case due to the overwhelming volume of evidence that "racism" is a white on black crime only.
I am hoping this extreme identity politics has reached its peak and will subside when the plan "succeeds" and inevitably fails. "Defund the police" yeah right, let's do that. See what happens...

Funny thing race..ism. I remember some English folk saying they hated the Welsh and vice versa. No doubt these feelings still exist to a minority. Then you've got the rival city hatred. Its a human thing that will never go away.

The report’s many detractors struggle to see how its authors could reach its conclusions from the data presented. The chapter on health inequalities was ripped apart by no lesser an authority than the British Medical Journal.

Remember what happened last time you kept accusing people of 'moaning'? The clever lads had to have a quiet word with you and thus admonished, you flounced off.Potter wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 12:15 pmYou've completely made that upAsian Boss wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:36 am Arguably the report has achieved exactly what the government wanted, adding credence to the false binary that underpins their culture war agenda: that the nation faces a choice between addressing racial inequalities or class disadvantage.
The only class/culture war is in the minds of a small minority of moaning people.

The BMJ is a union rag, unions will exaggerate any perceived issue as dividision benefits unions enormously.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 6:07 pm The report’s many detractors struggle to see how its authors could reach its conclusions from the data presented. Well that sounds like the BMJ is another "leftist propaganda tool". Maybe all the doctors and scientists are in on it too.Mussels wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:28 pmThe BMJ is a union rag, unions will exaggerate any 'racism' issue as dividision benefits unions enormously.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 6:07 pm The report’s many detractors struggle to see how its authors could reach its conclusions from the data presented. Perhaps we should rely on the good old Daily Mail, Express and Sun to guide us. They may be the choice of the small time conservatives but I think everyone knows just how impartial and accurate they are.

Re: Apparently you's lot AIN'T well racist, innit?
After the report was announced lots of people were rolled out on TV to say what they didn't like about it. They focused on different parts but each person focused on the part that benefitted them personally.
The BMJ is a fine one to complain, their members are a glowing example of how ethnic minorities can be over represented in a well paid profession. But they obviously think their members would rather hear that they are fighting the big white institution.

Let's ignore the BMJ then and get our information from the Daily Mail. And Piers Morgan. They're the bastions of the right... which must be right. They seem to be convinced there's no racism and the old white privileged men shouldn't have to worry about anything.

I'm not sure what publications I would trust to give a balanced view, it wouldn't be the Mail or a pressure group that benefits from racial tensions.
