Well, so says the Commission for Race and Ethnic Disparities, and they've been doing some proper research, way beyond checking their Nan's cupboard for racist marmalade.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-56585538
So it's either a complete fabrication, and they just sat in a room and played Angry Birds for a year, or it's true and perhaps groups with an agenda simply need to see racists under the bed as a cause of all ills.
One interesting point I read was this: "More research is needed to examine why pupils perform well in certain communities, so this can be replicated to help all children succeed"
Without claiming to be an expert on this matter, I can't help but feel that absent fathers (of which 13% of black ethnic families in the UK have), must have some bearing. The numbers among other BAME* families, particularly South Asian, is a fraction.
*A very unhelpful catch-all term.

I suspect that'll be shouted down as a 'white wash'.
A big part of it IMO is economic situation/parents outlook. There's been enough studies showing poor white boys perform amongst the worst in education and jobs to see that. Plus the inconvenient truth that Asian kids tend to do fairly/really well in education and jobs.

I don't think it's a complete fabrication nor a case of people with agendas making things appear more racist than they really are - are as you seem to be using pejorative phrasing presented as humour to suggest in a somewhat loaded manner.
The truth is IMO somewhere in between. Exactly where will no doubt be an area for debate.

Apparently, even the working class white males who do not do well at school still have better job outsomes than similarly unqualified black males...Supermofo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 11:10 am I suspect that'll be shouted down as a 'white wash'.

TBH, in comparison to most other countries I have visited in recent years , Britain is certainly one of the better integrated. It would appear there still issues ( but I am white , middle classed, middled aged and male so I probably don't know about them) - but in comparison the Germany, France, Spain, Japan, Switzerland and especially the USA, we are streaks ahead.

Re: Apparently you's lot AIN'T well racist, innit?
The BLM lot won't like this at all, there's a key difference between the report and what they would like people to believe.
If one group of people is different to all other groups then that group is likely doing something to enforce it's position. The BLM campaigners pitched whitey against all ethnic minorities saying whites were the odd ones out and opressing the rest, this report has turned that on it's head and pointed out Carribian communities are the odd one out.
So maybe whitey isn't to blame and the BLM activists are in their own fear zone. I suspect I will get accused of victim blaming now.

Re: Apparently you's lot AIN'T well racist, innit?
Many years ago when I first started visiting Sweden on a regular basis, I was surprised to hear the phrase, 'We'll take a Turk' being used to mean a taxi, on the basis that many of them were Turkish (and Albanian, Kurdish, Syrian, etc., but that's not so catchy a phrase). I'd always imagined the Swedes to be a bit more cultured than that.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 11:41 am TBH, in comparison to most other countries I have visited in recent years , Britain is certainly one of the better integrated. On a similar note, they have a seasonal sweet treat of rolled chocolate balls Chokladdbollar, but these were hilariously named as negerboll, which I'm sure you can figure out....
So, I concur, for the most part. Being British, we tend to err on the side of understatement and reserved judgement. If I hear an ignorant comment based on race, my first instinct isn't to 'call it out', but rather I just think to myself, 'Idiot...'. Maybe I should be more vocal, but as the same time, if said idiot wants to hold such ignorant views, that's their prerogative.

When I was in New Zealand in 1986, the Maoris we worked with called us Packies. We were confused until they said it was short for Pākehā which means forriner.
Then we went to Australia and the news/sports reporters openly used Pakis to talk about the Pakistani cricket team. No offence was meant, or taken.

And re-reading my OP, I said the Runnymede Trust issued the report. My bad, it was the Commission for Race and Ethnic Disparities.
For some reason, I don't have the function to edit that post.

Re: Apparently you's lot AIN'T well racist, innit?
Look chaps, there are an awful lot of people employed in the Race Relations industry. And what with most of the rest of industry being a bit slack at the moment, we need all the employment we can get.
So I suspect (and I heard it on the news so it must be true) the activists will rubbish the report, the Chairman, and the person who set it all up. Just to ensure continued employment for the Race Relation experts. Lots more work to do yet fore they will be happy.

I would be much more interested to find out how "not a racist" behaves. I sincerely believe I am not a racist but by what definition? What is the criteria by which white people are judged or increasingly, pre-judged?
I certainly do not fall for the leftist propagandist version which is basically a political power grab being made on behalf of the black community by incredibly powerful white men (typically). BLM and Antifa are nothing to do with race or skin colour and everything to do with Marxism and fascism. "Don't worry, we'll look after you, just let us take full control of your lives".
There certainly is a disadvantage in being a "minority" ethnic group. That is what the commission found but those disadvantages are neither systemic, nor institutionalised, the problem is that people are people. Birds of a feather, flock together etc. It can be extraordinarily difficult to integrate yourself into any community no matter what colour you may be. Scotland, Wales, Ireland, N. Ireland even the fucking Isle of Wight, they all demonstrate extreme examples of group behaviour.

Yup. I've lived in this village for 16 years, but I'm definitely not a villager yet according to some. There are even people who moved here when this estate was built in the 70s who aren't classed as real villagers FFS.DEADPOOL wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 2:40 pm There certainly is a disadvantage in being a "minority" ethnic group. "UK report on race is a masterclass in gaslighting"
Hard to pass of the FT as being left wing or 'leftist propaganda' etc. Much as elderly, privileged white men might like to.

I can't see the article but the headline is in quotes so I suspect they are just using that quote as an attention grabber. Like the BBC does when the headline says "he's guilty" but the story adds "said the prosecutor in court"Asian Boss wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 9:01 pm "UK report on race is a masterclass in gaslighting"

I put the headline in quotes - because I was quoting the FT.
