Re: Bikes to own before you die.
I've never ridden or owned a GSXR1000 or R1 which I really should put right one day.
A winter hack. Something I've always said would be a good idea but never done. Himalayan? Vanvan? Anything but a scooter.

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
Maybe a mk1 monster, a triumph tr6 would be nice.
I think mainly I want try a few new disciplines rather than own bikes, so have a go at trials, place near me in the ribble valley has a school which uses those electric bikes so that could be a goer. Bit of green laning near our gaff in France and probably a lesson on the track would be good too. Ideally all of these would be on someone else's bike so when I inevitably drop it .....

BMW Boxer twin...probably a GS, just 'cause.
Moto Guzzi of some description.
Edit: makes me sound like some kind of transverse twin pervert doesn't it?

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
I don't think there are any bikes that I have a burning desire to own, that includes exotica, last bike I really, really wanted was the 98 R1, so I bought one in 2000, and it was fantastic.
I wish someone would make a bike I really wanted, I've got money to spend on a bike but there's nothing I really want.

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
Stuff I'd like to own even if only for a short time.
Ducati 748 or 749 (don't need the power of the bigger ones)
YZF750
Superduke/SMT
A Suzuki - I've never owned one although ridden a few.
Guzzi V7 Cafe Racer
A classic of some sort.
Funnily enough the only bike in the last 10 years I really really wanted was a 690 Duke and I've owned one for the last 5. So that's a win

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
I know what you mean. When I bought the 690 I really wanted one and had for a few years so it was easy come buying time.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:29 am I wish someone would make a bike I really wanted, I've got money to spend on a bike but there's nothing I really want.
Now I'm looking at replacements I'm all over the shop as there isn't a set bike I want just a vague idea and it's a bit annoying.

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
I loved my one and would happily have another one if I had more room and my FZR400 didn't suit me better as a track bike.

Re: Bikes to own before you die.
What the hell for, I had a few of them and they were all pretty horrible to ride.
