Ok didn't think it was necessary to qualify that taking it off road was likely to be a stoopid idea.

I like the looks of it but it's not going to be much of a serious offroader being heavy, and having a single sided swinging arm and cast wheels

I don't think it was ever expected to. 99% of these bikes are a styling exercise rather than a serious attempt to improve the actual riding of the bikes they start with.

Like virtually all bikes improved by their owners :banana-wrench:

Oh i dunno about that, i think the majority of people start these days with the bouncy bits, getting them sorted first. The shit like a tail tidy, exhaust etc... But suspension and fuelling seem to be the priority for most, which can only help.

People must be better riders than me, I'm riding a 30 year bike (on modern tyres) on track and I don't get near it's cornering limits, all I've done is change the springs because it was intended for a Japanese teenager, not a 14 stone fat cheesy barstard.

Mr. Dazzle wrote: Mon Mar 29, 2021 8:49 am As soon as you say "overweight single sided offroader" the GS immediately leaps out as the obvious candidate doesn't it? And what could be more serious off road than the Paris-Dakar?

Like I said you can make most things work if you try. BMW certainly manage it!

I strongly suspect the builders of the OP aren't trying that hard to actually make it work though. :D
BMW may compete, but KTM take the wins year in, year out.

And this is the paragraph in the blurb around this bike that I was referring to.

While the bike may appear more like a design exercise than serious off-roader, there’s talk the machine might participate in the next edition of the Brivemo Africa Twin Raid (BATR) in Tunisia.

Which is why I made my initial, deeply skeptical, post. I think the above statement is just flannel, intending to give the bike's (mythical) off-road capabilities a boost. Still not buying it.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.
