KTM 950 DESERT SLED BY FABMAN CREATIONS
I went for this one today because it's far enough removed from the original bike to make me think "mmmmm"

I like it, very unusual, the only bit I’m not sure about is the front mudguard.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Dunno, at least its got one.
Not got much choice with USD forks on anything with long travel suspension. The mounting points are either down close to the axle or up on the yokes.
It either looks like a modern sportbike mudguard or a modern motocross one.
Mind, that one does look bloody waffy.

A yes and no from me, I like the overall idea, but not the shiny finish and the bodywork is too curvy for my taste

Looks like it was designed by Philippe Starck, the bloke who bought us the Aprilia Moto 6.5. In case you've forgotten (and I can't blame you if you had)...

Interesting, I accept it's not built to be used, but built to look like it could be used, but I would wager that most people who know a bit would look at it and say "that engine, coupled with that brake and the smooth transition from seat to tank.... that would be awful to ride off road"

I actually quite liked the look of it, but not enough to buy one...Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 3:09 pmWeird looking bike, they were really nice to ride though.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 11:13 am Looks like it was designed by Philippe Starck, the bloke who bought us the Aprilia Moto 6.5. That's the first thing that occurred to me too.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 11:13 am Looks like it was designed by Philippe Starck, the bloke who bought us the Aprilia Moto 6.5. In case you've forgotten (and I can't blame you if you had)...

I'm a bit ambivalent with this one. It's almost too designer to be a cool bike.

Can I just point out that it isn't my idea of a Desert Sled.
These are.
As shown by winning the Baja 1000 every year for nine years running.
Long production runs, its a Kawasaki thing.
