We did, but it was a 13 with different geometry, fuelling, big pistion forks, Brembo calipers.

That one is way too Bellwood for her, along with lots of unknowns. I/we like things 'right' and a known quantity, this has lots of stuff I don't know how or why or because of what it all ended up on the bike.

I still think this time next year the zx6r will go. But what'll come in, I really don't know.
A Fireblade wouldn't be a shock.

Time to come clean here it seems !

Mrs Weeksy took the day off because of the sunny weather and wanted to take the ZX6R out for a blat. So i fitted the road stuff, checked and sorted the tyre pressures and sent her on her way.

25 mins later i get a phone call
"Bring the trailer, the £$£$^^ bike is %^^**%^*8 ^%$&%^**"

a few mins later I get the info out of her that the rear caliper was dangling about and not fixed to the bike any more.

As i was driving to go out and sort it, i thought back and it's 100% my fault. When doing the chain and sprockets i left the caliper bolt loose as it's easier to remove and re-fit the wheel with it out. It wasn't until i thought back that i grasped i'd not tightened them and they've come loose. The caliper flipped around the swingarm and was dangling.

Sadly for me it's scuffed the paint on the rear wheel so it'll need a repaint. But apart from that there's no harm done. Lucky day !

I feel a bit bloody embarrassed that's for sure.

To make you feel a bit better, a mate of a mate has just had his ZX10RR serviced at a Kwacker Main Stealer and as he bounced over a nearby level crossing on the way home the sump bolt fell out.........

Trust me, i feel bad enough about this one without a talk of doom. I am VERY particular about each and every bolt on the bikes being done correctly, but because i did it completely out of sequence due to changing the sprocket and the chain not fitting at the time (until the new one went on) it just completely skipped my brain that I'd not done it up.

Happily i've just spoken to local powder coater who'd £40+vat for doing the wheel, so that's simple enough. But i'll need a new set of bearings in there too. So i'm going to see if Greed at MSG racing can get one of the lads to paint it instead, if not i'll just drop the wheel over to him to get it done ASAP. We're out playing on the 23rd so whoever gets it done we need to factor in the when as well.

Last night i used some touch up paint on the wheel, it's OK, sorta.... It's OK from 6' away anyway LOL.

But it'll still get powder coated sometime when i get a chance.

I also noticed the wheel balance weights were missing on one side, so took it to get balanced this morning.

Then all put back together with new caliper mount bolts LOL

As per above, at some stage the ZX6 rear wheel will need powder coating, so just ordered up some replacement wheel bearings for it.

I need to do some checking to see if/when we'll have a big enough gap in-between trackdays, it may even end up being left until winter.
