Hundreds of times, and more likely thousands of times, more people than above will die as a result of these "political" decisions.

Saw an epidemiological calculation that each day delay in vaccination would likely result in an additional ~15 deaths per 100,000 un-vaccinated people. Doesn't sound much until you do a bit of elementary arithmetic.

Don't forget the similar calculations to estimate deaths from 'delay in lockdown' and 'impact of "eat out to help out" policy' and 'creating white elephant Nightingale hospitals with no staff'. I think they were called 'common sense calculations'.

It is what Dr Sabine Strauss of the EMA said at 16.10 today. It likely reduces the risk of thrombotic events because it prevents a disease which itself causes thrombotic events.
