It renewed today and the new Cert won't apply yet...

Good job i trust me too. Bloody inconvenience though.

I've tried to complete the process but getting an error when generating the cert.
Please allow two to three minutes as we complete the generation, validation, and installation of your SSL Certificate.
However, 5,6,7 mins later i'm still getting that error, so i've raised a call with the ISP and waiting for input. I've left it for now attempting to generate it.

Process still isn't working i'm afraid guys. I've got a spinning icon showing me it's 'thinking' but it's not actually doing what it's supposed to, which is to generate the CSR to allow me to apply it to the website. Funniest part is, i do this sort of thing day in day out using another company called DigiCert who do our corporate certs, so it's actually the part of the Admin process that's most familiar to me. But whatever certificate authority the ISP uses currently isn't doing the part it's supposed to do.

OK kids, the certificate has been re-applied for, generated and associated.

It's now working fully but on my machine I had to close the browser page and re-open it. It's now working fully.

It has taught me that maybe next year i need to reapply for the Cert in advance so we don't have any of this again. I assumed it was a 24 month cert which is the same as we use in work, but it seems it's only 12 :D

All seems back to normal. I closed and reopened FF, cleared the exception and no warning page came up.

If you delete this thread the people with stickyback syndrome might never know.

Funnily enough, one of my first jobs after signing into work today, doing the exact same thing as this for a new piece of hardware we completed the installation of yesterday along with HPe.
Weirdly, this one will actually take longer as the guy who signs off the Cert is in the US and doesn't come online until 12ish.

I think nowadays the 'free' ones from CertBot (LetsEncrypt) are recommended to be replaced every 60 days, they only last 90 days.

On a couple of sites I run I've setup an autorenew script (Certbot) and it's a genuine 'fit and forget' process.

It'll be interesting to see, the Cert wasn't FREE for me through the ISP.... £17 a year... So i'm curious to see how it goes and the length associated for it.
