Nice bike for sale ... but...
I was tempted by this. The Pontefract C90. It'd be ideal for gaying it up round town.
But.. carb needs setting up so it runs right? Why put all that effort into a bike then sell it as a non runner.
I guess maybe it's been standing for ages but it's probably more than that.
A lovely little bike though, especially with the wider wheel conversion, cut down rear mudguard and rear brake conversion.

Re: Nice bike for sale ... but...
iirc you can by brand new Chinese C90 clones for £900.
You could spend the rest on a pink diamond stiched seat and handlebar tassles.
They make Haribo in Pontefract.

I drove past Pontefract in 1992, it didn't look very nice

That is so ghey I'm surprised it hasn't got a butt plug poking out of the seat.

I don't mind that - it's very 'now'.
But looking at it, has it got a rear light? It's no good for gaying it up round town if it's illegal.

Re: Nice bike for sale ... but...
As I said in the private plate thread, if you put an old dateless plate on (like 'XXX 123') then the black/silver looks quite cool, assuming the bike can get away with looking that old. But leaving the 1982 X-reg plate and styling it like a 60s plate looks sad. To me.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 3:38 pmI don't mind that - it's very 'now'.

It's a visual smorgasbord and represents an array of cultural touch points. Re: Nice bike for sale ... but...
I'd have thought it was easily worth that. If it ran well and had a back light I would have bid more. Just for t'craic, like, just for t'craic.

Re: Nice bike for sale ... but...
It's a grand more than I paid for the K12RS!
The last C90 I bought cost me £150... but it did have a bent valve, which I only discovered after a week of trying to start it.

The valves are fine on this one, but the rest of it is proper bentKungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 9:43 am It's a grand more than I paid for the K12RS!

Re: Nice bike for sale ... but...
Looking again I think they stopped the auction at two eight.
It wouldn't surprise me if it went for three and a half.
