The longest ZRX project...
Mounted the airhorns at least a decade ago. Today I finally got around to moving the compressor & used a Adel clamp instead of the ziptie to mount it..

Re: The longest ZRX project...
A mate stuck air horns on his Z1 in the 70s.Riding along and the first time he hit the button the bike blew the main fuse!
Aside from tooting at a mate or suchlike,I don't believe I've used a horn in anger in decades.

Try riding LA freeways...
These horns are wired to the battery via a relay

IME try driving anywhere at all in the US and waiting at a light that's just turned green for more than 4 nanoseconds. 3 in New York.

There's a few sets of lights round here that just let maybe three cars on close formation through if the drivers pull their fingers out.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 6:06 pm IME try driving anywhere at all in the US and waiting at a light that's just turned green for more than 4 nanoseconds. 3 in New York.
I'm not against a quick toot on the van horn (white van as well, just for added bonus points) if some Clampett forgets where the throttle is on those sets of lights.
Other lights and I'm not fussed but on those lights I'm on it pretty damn sharp.

I once got burned off at the lights by an old dear in an Yaris Hybrid I was on the bike in the 'middle' of two lanes and I thought I'd give it a squirt to nip out in front as soon as it went green. Said lady clearly had the same intent, and 'cause a Yaris Hybrid has instant electric drive - i.e. you don't have to bring the revs up and feed the clutch - she was fucking away and in front before I could say " holy beige metallic paint!".

Re: The longest ZRX project...
We have a few left turn lanes here in town where the light turns orange by the time the first car is barely in the middle of the intersection.demographic wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:07 pm There's a few sets of lights round here that just let maybe three cars on close formation through if the drivers pull their fingers out.

Re: The longest ZRX project...
Managed to get some of the wire tidying sorted. Bought a 100ct pack of those sticky zip tie mounts & did the left side. Right side & front by the battery will be sorted next time I have the tank off, also need to shorten a few wires. Next project is the alternator chain mod.

Those little cable tie mounts are very handy. Every garage should have some.

It'd be even better if you used proper cable ties and replaced that pre-insulated connector with a non insulated one.
