Fucking Cadbury's fucking cream fucking eggs where the foil wrapper has become pretty much glued to the choccy & takes 10 minutes to bloody peel it off in 300 pieces so the effort far outweighs the reward.

Meghan Merkle, I'm bored of it all already.
And whoever posted in the jokes thread about Ian Wright dressed as Mrs Doubtfire, that's all I can see now when I look at Oprah.

And tying to scan their barcode with those self scan machines is a nightmare too.

How arrogant must a person be to assume that the rest of the world is interested in the petty trivia of their private lives...?

Interesting, well not really interesting - bit too Mumsnet for me, as our washer intermittently does the same thing. Several hours washing if you don't remember to check it. Please let us know if your solution works....

We had similar problems on a Bosch ( top loader, not that it makes any difference ) and a miele. Both times it was the breather from the pump...blocked with lint.
Both would sit and rumble away for hours, but would drain if shifted to that....after clearing the hoses both were fine.

TBF, they need to stand on their own feet now without palace funding. This interview will earn them enough not to need UK money.

I will check the pump/filter/breather (as that's never a bad thing), though it's draining fine

I'm not sure they arrogantly think that. The media has proved that they and a certain amount of the rest of the world are interested (and if they can't find any trivia they make it up) so I guess the couple might as well get in there first?

Personally I wish the media would leave people alone - but then the celebs that make money and print space from media coverage would have to actually work ?

So do I. They wanted privacy, just give it to them. If the media just ignored them, I'd be happy, but would they?

Migraines. Sodding migraines!!!

I haven't had one for months and omnths - I can't actually remember the last one!!

This one is winding up to be a doozy!! I can just about seeing out of one eye now the right one has zero vision cos of the lines wobbling across it. The left I can still see out of a bit. (Tis lucky I can touch type - mostly!!)

Sooo - physio in 45 mins and a french lesson at 18:00. Here's hoping that the historic way of solving it works today - although I have no ibuprofen, so have had to substitute something else! With taking the right meds the lines go away and the headache doesn't really arrive. Without, thelines eventually go away and then the headache is Biiiiiigg :( :(

If I'd ever worked out what causes them it wouldn't be so bad, but there's never been rhyme or reason for them arriving. I could get rid a bit quicker with a serious junk food sess - chocolate, sausage rolls, cake stuff like that. Don't have any here right now :( :( Buggeration!!!!

You have my sympathy. Not that it'll help, but you have it anyway. ;)

I never got it bad and it's got a lot better as I've got older. Now it's mostly just the visual disturbance, I rarely get the subsequent headache. What was almost as bad as the migraine itself was people telling me, wrongly, what was causing it, as if I was too stupid to try to work it out for myself.

I'd be very surprised if this hasn't been mentioned before, but I'll be buggered with a splintery gatepost if I'm going to check through 40-odd pages of previous posts...

So.

This morning I went to a local tyre emporium to get a pair of tyres for the recent cheapo (4 wheel) acquisition. I did a quick check of tyres fitted and manufacturing dates and it has 4 different makes of tyre on the 4 wheels. Getting the two oldest (one dates back to 2004!!) replaced and the new ones put on the front (it's FWD).

I wasn't allowed into the tyre fitting bay (Covid being the excuse) but watched from a distance. Windy gun used to remove tyre bolts - no problem with that. Tyres swapped around and new ones fitted as per my wishes - no problem with that.

Windy gun used to put tyre bolts back on - I do have a problem with that. The fitter then followed that up by checking torque with a torque wrench. Unsurprisingly it clicked without tightening any further because the fucking windy gun had already over-torqued them...

When paying for the tyres I inquired what torque they used on the wrench "100 ft-lbs" came the reply . The manual for the car states a torque of 90 Nm or 66 lb-ft for wheel bolts, so even before you take into account the overtightening the windy gun has applied, they compound this by using 50% more torque than is specified when checking.

Get the car home and loosen all the wheel bolts and re-torque to the correct value. To undo the bolts I had to use a breaker bar with scaffold pole extension. Can you imagine trying to get those fuckers off with the tools provided as standard by the manufacturer? Fat fucking chance.

Grrrrrrr....

Thank you. Doesn't help but tis appreciated.

I can normally sort out the visual disturbance with a combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen (the most you are allowed to take in one hit) and generally this prevents the headache too. I suspect the ibuprofen is necessary as I only had the paracetamol and Acupan (which is what I had in rehab - one of the few painkillers that worked) - although it sorted the eyes, I've got a headache 'thinking' about smacking my brain but it's dealable with. I'm a bit woozy tho :( :( Had to cancel the French lesson :( :(

I suppose I could be stupid cos I can't work out what causes mine - but there really is no linking reason at any point. My physio said it could be a whole heap of things that just 'join together on that day' to cause it. But I can't think of anything going on today that hasn't happened all together in the last year!!! Just another thing that makes me a weirdo
