The 900 ones would cover any access to the brake lever, the ones on the Multi and 700 would leave a gap but would protect against any front contact onto the handguard ;)
Ye, most handgaurds have 1 or 2 fixing points. 2 is bar end aswel. The lever guard things do fix to bar end and bend around front of lever, I think, so I would definitely check with the one fixing point guards. See what Alan says. 👍

All good for Pembrey then Dave. 👍

Doubt I’ll do Pembrey Dodgy !? It’s not one of my favourite circuits and I’ve got quite a lot of jollies planned for this year already !!...just a case of fitting everything in !!??😬😂

Yep...that was my thinking 👍 I sent a couple of close up photos to MSV of mine and a mates bike and they’ve confirmed that both are ok. Definitely worth doing the same well before up you go, just to make 100% sure and avoid any stress on the day !

Ye I could, but we all know what handgaurds look like and I ain't got any better photos on my phone at mo.🙂 If the idea is to protect the lever from close contact then I should be fine. What else are the lever protectors for. 🤷‍♂️

Better still, what are the actual trackday guidelines regarding this issue.?

but there's differences in handguards and they're designed to protect the hand.... not the brake.... sure they'll do the same function to a great extent, but it's completely possible that a 'handguard' may not be classed as sufficient to act as a brake guard. I'd say the odds are they'll likely be fine from what i've seen, but without checking with Alan @ PBTD, then someone could turn up expecting to ride and be told NO.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, i'm trying to help :D

MSV Trackdays for example says
NEW for 2021 - all bikes must have a front brake lever guard or hand guard fitted.
No Limits say
FRONT BRAKE LEVER GUARD
From January 2021, you will be required to use a front brake lever guard on all UK and European No Limits Trackdays. A front brake lever guard protects the front brake lever from a sudden impact, the likes of when you could "clip" another rider whilst on track. They have been mandatory at MotoGP, WSBK, BSB and all UK club racing for many years.

No Limits recommends a GBRacing lever guard and these can be purchased from our parts and tyres section of the website.
I'm unable to find anything on Focused Events website.

singlesman wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 2:11 pm That really is a phenomenal lap time at Pembrey, I remember when I started club racing a young lad called Alex Buckingham was the man to beat, he turned up on a new OWO1 and was out of sight running 1.04’s.!!!
Seem to remember he picked up some decent sponsorship from Inch’s cider and went on to do some national level racing.
I know Mr Bevan was quick everywhere, not just Pembrey, but did he ever have a go at nationals, and if so, how did he get on?
I well remember Alex from NGRRC and PTMCRC days. He used to ride a Rotax 250 before he moved to the big stuff. Bit of a nutter who once piled it on the entry to Dibeni while about 10s in the lead.

PS I'm in. Inters. I'll be the fat bloke on the fast bike riding like a granny because I can't afford to bin it.

I would imagine the industry has been forced into this as an extra safety measure, thats fair enough and I'd expect no "differing interpretations" between the various trackday organisers. But I could be wrong, I was once before. 🙂👍

On the Hand Guard situation :

Front brake lever protectors are mandatory for 2021 season. They must have a fixing point to the handlebar at the bar end. Adventure / Supermoto type bikes with ''handguards'' not fixed at the bar end are not allowed. Enduro type ''Brush Guards'' are as they have a fixing point at the bar end.

Thanks Alan

Thought that might be the case .... @Dodgy knees will be ok with his ones as they are handlebar end fixed but i thought mine might be an issue as there is a gap
