Of the two, the latter. It's in focus and hasn't got a lifestyle statement. That's good enough for me.

Second. I prefer the graphic style, rather than an image.

But :)

For office use (not that it will be an issue for the near? future), no banner at all woul be preferable.

No but, what's there is there. After I've got used to something I barely notice it, unless it's important to me.

Yeah i get that... But i'd like it to have some identity as a forum. I know to you guys this is just a forum, somewhere to post, somewhere to add random words that may or may not be important.... But to me this is something i'm trying to build, to mould and to feel i'm doing something and accomplishing something i guess.

I'm also trying to avoid 'It's not as good as the old place' etc. I'm not a designer, and not even an IT type. As for any imagination, forget it.

As an example, I was chatting to a friend recently while at their house and realised I had no idea of the type, design or colour of the window coverings etc in most of the rooms of my house.

1888 wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2020 8:08 am I like the dark blue what may be more relevant when you discover this forum software does have skins option somewhere. One if the Kawasaki forums used it. The skins were more just colour changes than anything drastic but the banner stays the same
There are countless 'styles' and skins you can buy, steal, use yes, anything and everything, changes the layout, the icons, or just the colours really.

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles-2?start=120

They're simple enough to upload and add... Well, now i know how to do so anyway :)

I'm sure there's a plug in/ extension to alow multiple on the same board so people can choose and select... but that's WAY down my list.

If you recall, the old place didn't start with it's banner we see now... it started with a completely different layout in just about every way. Maybe WB was better as designing stuff than me, it's never been my thing.

IIRC it was a software update which removed the 'no banner' option.

But ...

It's not something that will worry me unduly

Can I offer something else as a temporary option? It's not brilliant but might be ok for the time being?

Can I add a word of caution: does it use a (C) image (bike & road)? Don't want you getting any grief.

No, copyright free. Though attribution is voluntary/requested and obviously nice to give, so if there's somewhere generic like a Ts &Cs page or About or something then maybe just sticking the link in there would be appropriate if we decide to keep it for any time?

I like both of them tbh. :D

While you're looking at it, try to think of something in the logo that will also give a nice favicon? (ie something that can shrink to a square image, preferably on a transparent background, that is nicely recognisable).

I prefer the other one to this, even though my Suzuki has this sort of revcounter.

BUT, how about a graphic of a round revcounter, which will always be a tribute to the old place ?

I like what’s up there now, red, black words and the rev counter. Had to describe in case it changes but I don’t think I can vote for this one can I?
Life’s for living, so let’s get on with it! :P
