It's a lot warmer in real life than it looks in pictures.
(btw it's yellow gold, not rose gold like the one in the advert I linked to)

I quite fancy a Milgauss, have to speak nicely to our AD
They are very rare, I've only seen a couple IRL.
I don't know if they're rare because they don't make many or rare because they're less popular than the Subs/GMTs, I think a mix of both but mainly the former, I've never seen one sitting in a display case and when I enquired about one a couple of years ago I was told they were 'order only'.

I don't think they are really that popular as everyone wants a Sub, Daytona, DJ etc and to be fair the used prices seem to reflect that too. They aren't to everyone's tastes I guess but the understated look works for me.

I did consider a DJ for my wife but she had her heart set on the diamond set Omega Constellation which to me was a pricey piece considering a quartz movement but keeps the boss happy

Can't go wrong with an Omega Constellation, it's pretty iconic.

Tell more....
Haven't got round to taking pictures yet, it's one of these...
(not that actual one, that's just a googled pic)

https://www.chrono24.ae/rolex/rolex-dat ... 1.htm#gref

I suppose I could wear it as well really but it's quite feminine and looks stunning on Mrs Potters wrist.
She was actually looking at a yellow gold day/date with diamonds, but this was sitting there and as soon as the opportunity came she put the day/date down and never looked at it again, I don't blame her, the pictures don't do it justice, on the wrist it's stunning.
61,868 AED

According to xe.com that's about £12,000. Is that right? I'd be a nervous, paranoid wreck walking around with £12,000 on my wrist.

That's nothing when you've got a fat wad of 50s in your back pocket though

ISTR Zebby uses gold bars as bookends :D

Edit: Seriously though, presumably you're OK with driving a 12k car? Most watches don't get fired down the road at 60mph with only a painted on line protecting them from watches coming the other way! Dunno about you, but I've also never spontaneously lost something strapped to my person either.

I once said something similar to a bloke wearing a £100,000 Patek Philippe and he shrugged and said there wasn't much he could do to it that PP couldn't laser weld or polish out when he sent it for a service and it came back looking like brand new. There are some good Rolex videos of watch restoration with huge lumps missing and it comes back brand new looking.

The only other issue is getting it robbed, which is a very real danger in some UK towns where the scrotes go looking for them and know what's worth pinching, but I don't choose to live there.

My daughter flies a lot with work and I try to discourage her not to wear her £15k Rolex when she flies to do business in London, her boyfriend takes off his solid gold Sub and wears something cheaper.

It would be be nice if this thread didn't descend too much into the void of a Hary Enfield sketch and how shit the UK is and was more about the appreciation of watches. :hmmm:

Had this one on today, old pic, but it gets a lot of wear time. An ETA 2824-2 tweaked to run a bit slower and at a reduced frequency to give a reserve of 80 hours. Apparently the downside is that the sweep is a little 'tickier' than the calibers that run faster, but can't say I've noticed it myself.

The pics don't do the deep blue dial justice.

A Speedy is on my radar too, was offered a nice used one a month or so back but price was a bit too close to retail for my liking. Do really like them though....

Guy at work has just purchased a Davosa and I was actually impressed by the quality for what it cost, the watch was actually quite like a Rolex Sea-dweller is looks, size and weight but at a fraction of the cost.
He likes it so much he's just order a Davosa GMT too....

My Speedy continues to be impressively consistent. It loses almost exactly 3s a day with less than a half a second variation day to day.

If I could really be arsed I could get it tweaked a tad so it just runs +/- 0.5s every day I suppose.

Fella at work has been monitoring his Davosa, reckons it runs to 0.25 seconds per day. Better than his Daytona or either of his Omega's.

My normally perfect Timex lost about 10 mins overnight a month or so back, been fine since though?

That's one of the main reason I buy these. On my third :)
Just found my old one which I 'lost' about 18 months ago. Still working and kept perfect time :)

Irony being, given our respective lifestyles I imagine it's probably more important for me to be on time for things than it is for Yorick :D

I don't understand. You've "tweaked" a watch to run slow? Deliberately? That doesn't make sense..

They do seem nice, but maybe a little spendy for an ETA movement. Saying that TAG get away with it.
