I had the Sinovac vaccine yesterday and should be getting a second one in 28 days time apparently.
I still can't use chopsticks.

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
I assume I am on some list somewhere, presumably for my heart valve issue as I'm only 43 and just had a text to book my vaccine. Got offered the flu vaccine this year for the first time too. Either way will snap that up

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
My wife has just had hers done. She is 56 and was contacted by her surgery to get it done, but she doesn't have any underlying health conditions? She does work in a school though, are they shortlisting critical workers so something?

You maybe got the dud Ali Express version.
If you exhibit any tendency to mass purchase anodised tat for your boat,I'd be very worried indeed.

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
Funny you should say that . . .
I ordered some stuff from Ali Express in January as a test as much as anything as people in the village rate them quite high. Some of the stuff arrived last week and I didn't have to pay any tax which is good and I'm expecting the rest in the next week or so. Not anodised tat for the boat though but some T track and clamps to improve the table saw and router table. I can get lots of different aluminium profiles locally but T track hasn't found it's way here yet.
The vaccine came out of the fridge so I didn't get to see the packaging. I'm not overly fussed about it's efficacy. If I get C19, maybe it'll mitigate the effects a bit and that'll do for me.

Turns out Mrs is getting the Pfizer jab today. It's anyone's guess what immunity an AZ jab, followed by a Pfizer jab a month later, then followed by a second Pfizer jab 12 weeks later, gives.irie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 8:47 pm Mrs irie gets another AZ jab tomorrow because it seems that for some reason her first AZ jab in January in a hospital wasn't recorded in the NHS database. Then I guess that in 12 weeks from tomorrow she'll get a supposedly second but actually third jab. Who knows wtf she'll end up like after three jabs!

Mrs D has her first one next week. She's early 30s and only vaguely asthmatic....never been hospitalised with it. They're getting through them!
She checked with the Dr that there hadn't been a mistake. Dr said that everyone has been asking that.

Amazing , isn’t it. I’m asthmatic, diabetic ( in remission) and over 60. And not a sniff of an invite down here ...Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 6:48 pm Mrs D has her first one next week. Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
She was 'hospitalised' once...she was working at the hospital at the time and had an attack on site, so they sent her down to A&E! Maybe thats enough. She didn't get any treatment but there will be a record of her presenting at A&E with Asthma.

Yes, I think the record of the A&E visit will have triggered the vaccination call.

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
To answer my own question, yes they are. All the teaching staff have been given a NHS website link and a code to enter and they can book their jabs at a variety of places, which also enables them to choose which vaccine they want! All have gone for the Oxford one?!
Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
You can now go online at the NHS vaccine page and book yourself a vaccine if you are over 60 .Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 8:15 pmAmazing , isn’t it. So you've finally figured out that in the face of a rapidly increasing third wave of infections and associated increase in fatalities you have to back down from your quasi-political* failure to approve the Astrazeneca vaccine? What a spectacular backfire, not to mention the increased body count, eh?

"Somehow gone wrong"?Germany set to give AstraZeneca jab to older people
Regulator concedes process had ‘somehow gone wrong’ and could soon approve vaccine

It must be true, the Mail on Sunday says so!

The interesting point being how this conclusion has been reached:A single jab of either Pfizer or Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is giving 90 PER CENT protection in huge boost to Britain's world-beating rollout... but don't tell Merkel and Macron that the Oxford one works better on over-70s
That's certainly "quite a large sample"Scientists using real world data from the NHS vaccination programme show the effectiveness of the jabs
