Would be a hoot to ride. Hate the side number boards. And XB wheels always looked like they came from a cheap moped.

That's ridiculous. The standard pipes are under the bike.
Why create extra "stuff" ?

Yeah they look a bit odd.

Apparently they're lighter than the under bike pipes and make a lot more power, I guess they can tune the length better.

Not so much a bike as an accessory.

Apparently available in the 1980s, known as a 'babe cage'. I decided to not Google it.

I can imagine those bars bending and trapping the riders limbs in an accident :wtf:

At least it doesn't have the bars around the legs

My guess is leccy scooter

That's the expectation here:

The frame obstructs usual motor locations, illustration appears to show a motor in the hub.

I can't find very many good pictures, but I think they ditch the catalytic convertor. In the standard bike the pipes have to go from the heads which are naturally at the top of the engine, down into the cat (which is quite big) and then up a little bit into the silencer.

These Termis appear to take a more direct route from the heads to the arse end of the bike, so they'd actually be shorter and lighter.

But like I said I can't see many good pics.

A couple here from my visit to Dynotech, my (now not exactly local) friendly engine builders and tuners

A CBR600 engined Junior class drag bike- it got wheeled off the dyno for my 390 to go on.
It's not got the standard CBR loom or anything really rather than the actual engine block, their work has been installing and setting up an "Octtane" specialist ECU, which by the sound of it has been challenging mainly as its really designed for cars- was a fascinating (for me) discussion.
Image

And this, also at Dynotech- not because it's particularly rare or that interesting to look at (the rear looked absolutely hideous and I thought the lagged header pipes and his number plate slogan were all just a bit sad ), but what was interesting was the sound as the owner gave it full beans down the road when he left- 4 IL4s are a bit meh in sound usually for me but this was not your regular IL4 race can sound, absolutely gorgeous, like a higher-pitched 1980s full-on Escort Mexico or Lotus cortina :D

Saw that racing in Battle of the Twins events... a real beast. Engine as stressed member was way ahead of its time too.
