I am expecting our summer to be similar to last year but without the "eat out to infect more" boost to figures. I think UK travel will be allowed but still with distancing measures etc but not expecting international travel to be easy if its even possible
We’ve got flights booked in April, July and Sept, I can’t see the April going, but optimistic about bumping it to the end of May. Hopefully the July and Sept will be ok.

I am an optimist tho
I was looking favourably for late May but the quarantine hotel nonsense is a deal breaker for me as that would cost me more than the flights, food, beer and 3 days fucking about on one of the best tracks in the world in the sunshine all together ..... i cant justify 1700 quid to the UK govt for the privelige of staying in a travel inn for 10 nights

I think that's probably the point of it, without that deterrent people will still travel and as soon as they remove it people will start heading towards the sun and the whole thing keeps going round and round. They want to deter you from being an international plague carrier.
As it stands, the hotel quarantine rules don’t apply to anywhere you’d want to go for a holiday.

Sigh...I get it but can't get excited about having to wait till end of March to see my folks, or anyone for that matter.
Not sure why there's a press conference today either, all the beans were spilled last night.
Government got into trouble a while ago for not telling HOC first. So now there are leaks/rumours/suggestions of what might be happening.
I'm going to break the local curfew tomorrow afternoon (over 65s are only allowed out between 10 am and 1 pm) and whilst it's not for the first time it will be for a legitimate reason.
Got my Covid vaccination at 15:10 at the local health centre. It'll be the Sinovac one I think, yanno, the one the Chinese developed about 3 years ago but didn't have a virus to use it on.

Looks like some sort of restrictions at least until end of June. No indoor pubs/restaurants till 17th May at the earliest, bums.
No indoor seating allowed here, and bars shut at 6:00.
But they've reverted back to 4 at any table. Was only 2 during last 2 weeks which was traditionally carnival time.

We're booked to go on holiday for 2 weeks in Brittany (Bénodet) in June/July but judging by this analysis in Le Monde it's looking increasingly unlikely even if we've been vaccinated!
Covid-19: how the B.1.1.7 variant, which appeared in England, threatens to relaunch the epidemic in France
Well that didn't take long.
Politico.eu wrote:Olivier Véran [French health minister] said that the nationwide trend of coronavirus infections had worsened in recent days.

These lockdowns work, so why not leave as it is until everyone has first jab.
I'd prefer waiting till everyones second jab.
Last year was an absolute bloody nightmare down here with thousands coming down in their motorhomes and converted vans.
"Upcountry" people are dirty filthy bastards, pissing and crapping everywhere, emptying their toilet cassettes in hedges, leaving rubbish everywhere...
Thanks to these selfish scum I and other "fulltimers" have lost 80-90% of our parking spots!

"The B.1.1.1.7 [Kent] variant was 36pc of all French cases at the end of last week and will soon be dominant. The South African variant is over 10pc in four departments.
French scientists say the apparent stability in cases nationwide is the temporary effect of two separate pandemics moving in opposite directions, the old one waning as the new one waxes. Once you pass the crossover point, it spirals out of control.
Italy is a week or two behind in this sequence. So is Germany where B.1.1.1.7 cases have reached 30pc. All three may be forced into hard lockdowns before Easter."
