Can't you just tidy up the install of the Oxfords, or is the size of the Oxford control switch thing or grip pattern upsetting you?

As you say, it's not the prettiest. But the new fitting thing is just like the regular KTM one, so a simple bar mount. So will be about as nice as it can get within reason, it's not terrible where it is and lets face it, no-one actually cares other than me. Even then, i shouldn't really care THAT much as it's more about the warmth than anything

If its like the KTM bracket I reckon that'll make it lots better assuming you've got space on the bars for it, or if not, just do like I did on the 790, all assuming you can hide the ton of cable the Oxfords have of course.
This was what I did on the SP, I thought it looked alright on that, but I guess not really an option for you with the XSR's Morris Minor-style speedo

The Oxford cabling was hysterical. I rekon it's 3m in length overall. which is about 3x the length actually neededTricky wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 2:58 pm If its like the KTM bracket I reckon that'll make it lots better assuming you've got space on the bars for it, or if not, just do like I did on the 790, all assuming you can hide the ton of cable the Oxfords have of course.

Some of my cable had to double back on itself for some reason. Detail's forgotten. Out of sight...

Next time your in the garage could you measure the length of the standard grips for me please @weeksy ?weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 5:23 pm So there was the other job on the list too. The fitting of heated grips... As they were only ordered today they're not here yet, but that doesn't mean we can't get ready

The grips on my 09 are not standard and they seem a bit too long. It would be nice to know i was ordering the right size

Still expensive and bulky.
The Oxfords are 33mm diameter, standard 31mm.

I have the QS off the mt09. It cost me £150.
The Woolich QS/blipper comes in about £650.

Yeah loads. I believe the guys who made mine are working and have 2 way shifters now, but to do in that context it still needs unlocking in the ECU which is again Woolich and their charges so even if someone else does, the cost won't change much overall

Well I've waited a little while but eventually the bracket arrived and was fitted. It took longer than expected due to having to completely undo everything to reroute it.

I then had to shoot out to town to run errands.

It's been months and months side I rode the XSR and it's had the forks rebuilt with new springs and the ECU tweaked.
First thing you notice is how smooth A mode now is, it's good enough that you can use all the time now. It picks the front wheel up fractionally with very little persuasion. But it does seem to pull better and ride better.
The forks, well the best compliment I can give them is that they don't exist, they're not given a thought. It turns, handles etc just how you'd like.
The heated grips are of course a joy. 50% keep them nice. 75% is toasty, 100% is proper toasty!
Overall the bike surpassed my ride expectations, I thought both me and it would need a bit of time to gel after winter, but things came back nicely to me and I felt right at home.

Absolutely agree.
It also bloody flies now with A mode and whatever he's done with fuelling. I wouldn't go as far as scary, but damn it wakes you up a bit.!

Oh yeah, I forgot.
SBS street excel pads, absolutely spot on. Better than standard, but not too harsh like the Brembo SA.

I think I'm going to send my ECU to them, I've got a standard 2014 mt09 and the on off throttle has always bugged me. I'm always thinking about replacing the bike but then there's nothing I see that would really tick any more boxes for me if I could sort the throttle out.
Is it a simple job Weeksy?I don't really like working on bikes.
Let us know more of your thoughts on the flash over the coming weeks if you wouldn't mind

Very simple to remove and fit matey yes.
It's hard to say yet because ride 1 after winter layoff it always feels fast. But yesterday it really did feel fast and smooth yeah.
As soon as allowed I'll also get Tricky to try and get his thoughts too.
