OTT: A HONDA CBX1000 WITH SINGLE-SIDED SUSPENSION

Post by weeksy »

As you've seen, i don't always LIKE these, but i often pick them for discussion as they're a bit, different.

Wow.

The CBx motor is a hell of a head turner for a bike - if it was mine, the rest of the bike would be a bit more subtle. I'm not sure girder forks with sports bike rake really works.

It's certainly different ...

I don't really like the way it looks, but its a lot more work than a lot of these kind of bikes. The wheelbase is about 25% too long for the bike though innit?

Looks like the motor is too big/heavy for the frame/front end and it'll snap at any moment.

I don't like it, a standard CBX looks better

I don't like the bike but there's a hell of a lot of work thats gone into it and I'd like to see it hooning around on a local road, just to see how it goes.
Oh and the usual front mudguard thing although I'll let em off on the airbox cos the frames a one off and six carb rubbers to fit would give me a nightmare.

Personally I was never a fan of the CBX 1000, dunno why but they do nothing for me.

Here's another version and if nothing else I like the tank paintjob and its a hell of a lot less bland looking than the original silver CBX1000.

Generally I prefer a standard CBX but I would make an exception for a Moto-Martin

Nice but there’s so many bits I’d change.

The front end is gopping and is a perfect example of ‘just because you can do it is no reason to’. A standard twin forks would look so much better.

The gap between the rear wheel and the rest of the bike is far too big.

And that stupid bowl like finish to the wheels..noooo.

On reflection if he’d just stuck a single sided swinging arm on it it would have looked better for much less effort.

That looks like a CBX1000 engined special with a single sided swing arm. :p

Personally I don't like the look at it. It's like the engineering equivalent of a primary school child's drawing where they're tried to use every colour available.
To a kid looking up to me, life ain't nothing but bitches and money.

Another one, now I can't say I'm a fan of it for the usual no airbox reason.
Plus, even though the rising sun flag is pretty much my favourite flag, its the wrong way round so hardly shows the rising sun part.
Image

Found on Bikebound, which as far as I can see is where hipsters put their bike shaped ornaments.
Its genuinely hard finding one with a bloody airbox.

That hole is where the battery and leccy stuff normally reside.

Have they done away with them?

The standard CBX 1000 is a beautiful beatiful bike - that thing is just awful.

Like the back end, but as most have said the front end, from the front of the tank is not nice. A standerd CBX is nicer.

That scares me. All that weight in the middle held up at both ends by some single sided tube fuckery. As I seem to find myself saying a lot these days, just because you can does not mean you should.
