Top speed is supposed to be 114mph, which is fast enough for me, and about the same speed as my 350 YPVS did when it was new in 1983, I do wonder if I'm a bit big for one as I weigh between 13 and 14 stone (depending on how much I've eaten that week), but as I've previously said it would be nice to have a bike that doesn't need regular attention
I'm seriously tempted to get one, prompted by your post about the MT07 based sports bike, I'm thinking do I actually want 70+ bhp, the most fun bikes I've owned have been under 50bhp and I do like the looks of the R3, when lock down finishes I'm going to have to do some test rides.
I am going to look like a gorilla on a moped on it though
I'm more worried that I'm a bit fat for an R3, further investigation says the performance will be more 250LC than 350LC, but I still think a test ride is in order.

A 2018 model coped with me giving it a decent thrash out in Ca. last Feb. (flew back just in time for lockdown).
I've gone round in a circle via the CBR500 and back to the R3 or Ninja 400, it comes down to a whole low weight and me wanting to thrash a motorcycle without doing silly speeds thing.
If the KTM 390 wasn't so ugly it'd be in with a chance.
There's a British Championship run at BSB for the little bikes, it' usually the best racing of the day. I think most of the top guys are on the 400 Kwaks.

Physically too big or weight wise? Because for some reason small capacity Yamahas now are actually quite big. The wee 125 thing is actually slightly bigger than an R6.
I'd worry about the weight although 13 stone isn't massive by any standard.
Physically too big sort of generally, though I'm not tall, I have sat on an R3 a couple of years ago at a bike show and I seem to remember it being bigger than an SV650, but a test ride will prove it one way or the other - I'm now looking forward to the end of lockdown, could be my first brand spangly new bike.
But a comparison none the less
