You're not an old git like me, I don't like the modern "transformer" look of bikes, the ordinary Z900 actually fits me better than the Z900RS, but we all know which one I'd buy

I don't think I'd buy any Triumph. Because they're all a bit gash. That's coming from someone who would buy an Aprilia too.

How about the Speed Twin? I took one out a year ago and within a mile I'd fallen in love - I was at the Kent coast when they called to say mine was ready and I wondered what the implications would be if I just kept it and didn't go back.

Probably the best all round bike I’ve ever owned, it really is extraordinarily good with none of that faux retro crap on some of the other triumphs- fake Amals on the rest of the Bonneville range BMP. Come to think of it real Amals on my older Triumph piss me off a bit too...

Just got back from taking a Trident out for a couple of hours.

Here's my thoughts on it. Easy to ride, handles well, smooth engine (bit of an extra kick around 6 - 7k), suspension ok, brakes ok, sounds great, nice techy bits (it can connect to phone, headset or an navigation app that will show you the next turn etc on the dash), small turning circle, two rider modes (wet or dry), compact and comfortable with the higher bars. An absolute bargain for the price and lots of fun to be had.

The negatives, a couple of cheap, plasticky looking bits, a bit of vibration in the bars, the ugliest pillion pegs ever (easy to remove).

For @tricol The position of the gear change lever is where I would have expected it to be and it can be adjusted at the top of the rod (not in the picture). I did have to try twice to get it into 1st once but in my experience, that's a characteristic that a lot of bikes have so just be a bit more positive about it (but you said that anyway).

Thanks for the info @Trinity765 I'd agree with you on everything you've said. I'll likely remove the pillion pegs, R&G do a blanking plate now.
