I would love a 1299 but sadly i doubt my knees would thank me for it so i went for the big upright Ducati instead. Lots of power, lots of comfort and the character i had heard about from the big twin engine. I have ridden IL4's since and while fast and comfortable they just dont have the same "feel". I might go back to one in a few years but not for now
Aprilia Tuono V4 1100. Comfortable, fast as f**k. looks gorgeous, best dynamics in class and is just the best sounding road bike. If you can afford a Panigale 1299 you can certainly afford a Tuono. V engines kick ass on IL4s all day long.
Cheers for all the input.Fancied the 1299s as it was the last of the v-twin model.
Two good mates have aprilia v4 and the new ducati v4.rode them both but not in mental modes.
Aprilia never again took me nearly a year for a few parts to arrive after a minor spill.
Deffo not buying a bike unseen but will have to wait after the lockdown crap has finished. That power slide bike does not fill me with confidence either.
I think you'll find that Aprilia spares availability is now on a par with most other makes. There was a period in the mid-2000s when spares were almost unobtainable, I know. Not any more. But as the saying goes 'once bitten, twice shy'...
