Well they work... but they're not exactly setting the world on fire from testing in the driveway. It's too damn cold, frosty and icy for me to be heading out for a full test though that's for sure. Maybe they just take a little while to get hot. We'll see. Looks like this time next week the weather should be suitable so will give it a whirl then.

I have them on the NCX, they work well and I never have them on past the third setting and I'm wearing thick gloves at the moment! I love them because they do their job, but they are hideously messy compared to my Scooters Technoglobe ones with their integrated control on the handgrip itself, which is also a lot easier to use on the fly!

I'm sure they'll be fine when used in anger, everyone says they're plenty hot so no reason to think they won't be on mine too.

They deffo do the job, as I say i never go past position 3 , I just think they are an untidy set up compared to the technoglobes.

It now transpires i could have bought and fitted the Yamaha ones. Which i thought only worked on the later FZ09s and integrate into the dash.
However they are £135 compared to £45 which is a chunk of change.

Those look much nicer. ^
I don't like the Oxford controller either,it's ugly, cheap looking and difficult to place where it doesn't look gash. I'm of a mind to hide the bugger somewhere altogether.

And...they work really well. Just a pity on the visual details.

They'll be fine, even without guards yours palms will be snuggy. Don't forget to do the magic test and could the controller be fit on R/H side. ??

i thought the left made more sense as i don't have to take my hand off the throttle then if doing it on the fly.

That may work better and let me mount on the bars. For £6 it's worth trying anyway.

Turn bike off and leave grips on.. thats magic . you don't need to take throttle hand off either side. Would the bracket fit tho.

The one you had coated looked like it got chipped by stuff being flung up by the front wheel, so what about a fender extender to help this one look good for longer?

I'm trying to visualize how/where that mounts but yeah, got to be better than the pic of the current installweeksy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 6:23 pm

For the Oxford's I've had recently, I made a little bracket to put it up in the screen alongside the clocks on my MT-SP (first MT I had the gen Yam grips with the integrated switch in it), and when I put them on the 790 I modded that to come off the clutch perch - wouldn't be hard to do that for the XSR, if your eBay bracket doesn't work out I think the Oxford controller is ugly, but makes it as neat as it can be IMO

I forsee it going about 2cm further in, but mounted on the bar in exactly the same way.
I must admit, i'm debating flogging them and going straight for the prettier Yamaha ones though even at the higher cost.

Yeah, those Yam ones were neat, but never really hot enough for me when I really needed them even after unlocking the super-full power mode ( as they come delivered they are limited until you press a sequence of buttons so that they can be used on the smaller bikes without drawing too much current) hence when I got the SP, I didn't bother with them and bought Oxford ones which were a lot hotter and fine, although they were still not as hot as the gen KTM, Ducati or Triumph ( on the 765 they have the nice integrated switch on the LH grip like the Yam ) ones
