I'm quietly surprised it hasn't appeared with something like the original 4 pipe exhaust. For loads, that was a big part of the original Z1 image and appeal.

I was looking at those this morning.

One dealer was offering 0% on the one with the fairing (which I don't like), so I had a look on the official site and it's only bikes under 650cc that qualify for 0% at the moment.

The earlier ones were only 99bhp, but the later ones are 111 which makes it pretty much a direct competitor for the XSR900 I reckon.

I quite fancy one, it just edges the XSR on looks.

I know what you mean, I like them but not enough to spend ten grand.
That's how the Interceptor got me, I liked it but not enough to spend what I thought they cost, then when I found out what it would actually cost me it seemed like peanuts and hardly a decision at all.

If Kawasaki start punting these out at big discounts then I'd probably have one and do a minor AC Sanctuary job on it.

I think if they were £8K I'd have bought one, £10K feels a bit too high for what it is, but my mind is a bit stuck on bike prices from 20 years ago

What's the big box bolted to the frame just below the headstock?? Looks like a complete afterthought.

I like it and they look good in the flesh. if I was going to go modern tech retro looks I'd go and buy a Triumph Speed twin.

I'd really like to see a CB400/4 modern retro, I love mine, it wasn't as quick as the CB400N Super Dream but it was such a delightful bike to ride. I should never have sold that bike (especially to buy a wedding ring!)

Honda still make a 400/4, the CB400 Super Four, it's not sold in the UK but they're a fantastic bike, they did a retro styles one for a while, I think it's the NC36

£6111 in Japan, I don't think I'd pay that much for one, would need to be about the same price as a KTM390

I think I'd go for a 2nd hand CB1300 and spend the rest making it handle.

Doremi sell a 4:4 set of pipes that match the originals, as do Delkevic. friend just fitted the Delkevic version to his along with a bunch of other aftermarket kit like turn signals, lights, engine covers etc.

Doremi was apparently the company that made the original pipes for Kawasaki back in the day.

I really like that kind of twin-shock retro type thing, but not enough to splash a load of cash on them because they're probably a bit underwhelming and you'd need to spend money on them. If they were cheap, or absolutely amazing limited edition HRC Honda quality and finish then that would make it a lot easier to make the decision - but they're neither.
