I'll paint it orange.

It's mostly for my lad as he's spannered his big toe MTB crashing, so he'll get a few hours lockdown fun out of it

I really dislike the modern Lego Technic, I say that as someone who both loves Lego and loved playing with Technic as a kid - I've still got my old sets. In fact I lucked in marrying someone half Danish, I now have family who work at Lego :D

Old Lego Technic was the same as 'normal' Lego but with holes in the middle and little gears etc. The new stuff has loads of 'unique pieces' that only fit that particular model, meaning it's neither Lego nor a very good model!

Shame really, 'cause I'm exactly the sort of nerdy techy person who'd buy a £350 kit otherwise.

When I was a wean we had bricks, that was it. The rest was all down to imagination and you'd have needed a hefty dose of that to figure out what I was building.

What happened? I assume he’s okay and just needs to rest it to heal?

I remember being well jell when my older brother got the expensive JCB kit with Pneumatics for Christmas in the late 80s/early 90s some time. I got 'im back though, I got a set with twin electric motors and a little servo kit a few years later.

I bet you can get a Raspberry Pi interface for it now :D

I do hope it came with its own miniature bottle of muc-off and some tiny microfibre cloths.

Does it come with the big end bearings that drop out at the first oil change?

Hope Weeksy Minimus recovers soon.

Rattle the box and record the sound before you build it, you can then pretend it has a dry clutch.

Reminds me of a cabbie pulling up next to a 996 at the traffic lights. He lean leaned out the window and shouted to the rider "Your bikes fucked mate, I wouldn't ride it far sounding like that" :D

Meccano was where it was at at our place, few "toys " made it into teenage years, Meccano did bodging naff cassette players into first cars, (usually mini's or austin 1300's)

That's a pretty cool model, Master W should enjoy putting it together

Do you know which manufacturer sells the most tyres worldwide each year? I didn't until recently & yep it's Lego

The chain is kind of slack, I ought to take a link out of it like I used to do when I was a poor student :)

This is the set I got for Christmas in 1993...I think I still have most of it in my parents' loft. The little differential (proper job just like you get in a car) was a right twat to get together I remember.
