Slightly sore injection site, nothing else. Going mountain biking with Mrs irie this morning.
ps. Got to say, when I had my jab I'd never before seen so many unfit/obese shufflers in one place.

Had my Pfizer jab last week. Sore arm for a couple of days and that was it. No other side affects. No discount on Viagra either

I saw a picture of our town centre in the 60s and one from recent times. The one outstanding thing was the amount of fat people in the recent picture with not one in the older picture! They do say we're an obese nation now and those pictures certainly highlighted it!
Sincerely,
Obese shuffler!

My SDad had his first Pfizer today. I did ask if it meant he could speak German now but he hasn't responded!! LOL
EDIT: Not sure if it's of interest or use but; lives in Weymouth and he's 75/76)

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
I see the UK has announced they're already working on new version to counteract the mutations due in Autumn... just like we do every year with the flu vaccine.
Probably be September before the US media even reports on the need for a new vaccine every year & they will act shocked at this news as though they had no idea.

Looks like BJ might have scored again...A single dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine provides “very high” protection without a ‘top up’ dose, according to Norwich researchers.
A University of East Anglia study has found that the vaccine becomes 90pc effective after 21 days – supporting UK plans to delay the timing of a second injection.

There's no such thing as a 747 Max.irie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:48 pmAnd our very own Dazzle will get 747 Max sized egg on his face.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:18 pm https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/uni ... zprODKfat8

Ordinarily I wouldn't point this out, because I know you're trying to make a human joke. But I feel it's necessary with you for some reason - dunno why.

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
My mistake. Ordinarily I wouldn't point this out but fortuitous because a 747 is 'a lot' bigger than a 737 Max.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:52 pmThere's no such thing as a 747 Max.irie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:48 pmAnd our very own Dazzle will get 747 Max sized egg on his face.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:18 pm https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/uni ... zprODKfat8

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
Had my first Pfizer jab on 3rd February and was then booked to have my second jab 12 weeks later on 28th April.
Today received a notification that it has been brought forward to 9th April which is ~9 weeks after my first jab.
Have no idea why it's been brought forward but no complaints of course.

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
Told the above to a friend (retired Consultant) who said:
"They are on a roll and trying to do as many as possible. The younger age groups are more likely to decline."
Makes sense, of course, because as target cohorts become younger proportionally more of them will decline, thereby shortening lead times for second doses.

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
The only problem with the younger, less at risk, groups turning down the vaccine (and why wouldn't you?) is that those in the higher risk groups who've turned it down on the basis they know best are now more likely to get tripped up.
Is this a case of doing your doody and getting jabbed to protect those who won't protect themselves?

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
To an extent yes... but don't forget there's people who not only won't protect themselves you're helping, but people who cannot for medical reasons. I don't know the figures but people with low immune systems, pregnant, maybe people with various conditions like HIV etc. Don't forget, but not vaccinating yourself, you're increasing the risk to those sort of people. So to a great extent yeah, it's the greater good and 'society' not just the selfish people who won't take it that you're saving/helping/protecting.
I can't sit here with 100% certainty the vaccine is safe.. but for me it represents the right thing to do in these times. So as soon as it's offered, i'll take it.
