I had a thread about adding home mains Internet plug thingies.

But me being me I never quite got around to buying any

Working from home, with three of us using the wifi has stretched its capacity. But not just that, we've had instances where a laptop a few feet from the router has displayed the 'poor connection' message during Skype calls. Not right.

Filly went on the BT website, they automatically pinged the connection and found no problems. 'Do you want someone to call you?' 10 minutes later the phone rang. "You need another router, we'll post one." Arrived today, plugged in, working.

[Apart from a minor BMP that the guy also said it should have been replaced already ... ]

I found an overlooked carton of apple juice in the fridge. The carton was round instead of square, I think it had started to ferment.

In this thread because I'm happy that I found it before it exploded (not because I found a new way to make cider ;) ).

What was the old way of making cider which didn't involved leaving apple juice standing around?

It's still snowing. A lot!! Apart from about an hour and a half yesterday, it's pretty much been snowing since wednesday!!! To the point that a lot of the roads up to other resorts are closed :o

Not insignificant to some. But we often get huge snow. And I love it :banana-dance:

I don't know but I'm pretty sure you don't just leave apple juice in the fridge for a couple of months otherwise everybody would be doing it. :D

Wifey and I had planned to spend lots of time in Europe but Brexit looked like that idea needed some modification, a Schengen visa means a traveler can spend 90 out of 180 days in the Schengen area. I need to do some further research but it's looking like my Irish passport means wifey can spend as long as she likes in the Schengen area. 😀

I still have a job!!

Despite Covid putting paid to the ski season this year, my winter employers have shipped me up to their Gloucestershire estate and kept me on the payroll.

The missus just reminded me it's 4 years since we moved into our little villa. It's a bit pokey, but we muddle along.

Happy doesn't describe it :)

Wife got negative on the Covid test! Yay! Rather relieved, but she is back to teaching next week again and has two tests a week from now on.

Watching the GBP - EURO rate go up. All our savings and investments are in uk, so every cent change is a nice bonus.

We lost 15% of our spending power here after that little vote a couple of years ago.

We've been having a clear out at home, combined with DIY and getting new windaaahs.

I've got my own office/spare room now and I've dug out my late FiLs old keyhook from his hallway. Its now a dedicated bike keyhook in my room. Need to paint that wall though.

Nice to have a little reminder of him, he worked on this aircraft for 30 years in the RAF and those are his bike keys.
