The only way AZ might agree to a contract on which they would make a loss on that quantity would be if they intended to short-ship it

We are fucked either way. The genie is out of the lab and it aint going back in, its only a matter of time before this mutates into something that avoids the vaccines.
YAY - well done China.
And before someone blames the wet market, even China have given up on that little fib.

Yep. It just happened to hove into view, right next to the lab playing with the very same viruses. After months of purging, they are event letting people inspect Wuhan Viral labs... after burning all the evidence of course.Kneerly Down wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:08 pm Aren't China now saying they don't think it even started in China?

Do you mean this report? In any case, of course the CCP will do anything to try to divert attention away from China being the origin of Covid-19.Kneerly Down wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:08 pm Aren't China now saying they don't think it even started in China?

Gallina said there were two parts to the price: a downpayment by the bloc and the specific price then paid by individual EU countries.
"The full price for AstraZeneca is not 1.78 (euros)," she said.

Add that to China blocking access to the caves where it was collecting the bat samples, the same caves 4 out of 6 scientists died after visiting....anyone who can't see through this is pretty dim imho.irie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:20 pmDo you mean this report? Parse that a bit for me - are you saying that the allegation about the scientists dying is made-up, or that blocking access is to prevent checking whether the bats there are a source...?Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:24 pmAdd that to China blocking access to the caves where it was collecting the bat samples, the same caves 4 out of 6 scientists died after visiting....anyone who can't see through this is pretty dim imho.irie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:20 pmDo you mean this report? Finding amusement in this tragedy? Well, schadenfreude is a German word.
Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
There are a lot of bat caves in China and they are all primarily raided for food, the fact that scientists also go there to study bats(!) is hardly a surprise. After the pandemic, I would be surprised if they hadn't been shut down, as has the wet market.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:24 pm Add that to China blocking access to the caves where it was collecting the bat samples, the same caves 4 out of 6 scientists died after visiting....anyone who can't see through this is pretty dim imho.
Where do you get that four out of six died story from? It does sound compelling, it also sounds like made up bollocks.
Even if the bat virus was being "played with" in a lab, it still has to enter the human food chain and there is a compelling theory it did so after infecting a pangolin. Nobody would eat a raw bat and it would be difficult to catch a virus even from a live, captive one. I don't think live bats were being sold at the Wuhan market anyway. The virus would need to be transmitted from a live host, pangolins are much bigger mammals and the most trafficked live wild animal food product. If an infected live pangolin sneezes, the world catches a cold.
The CCP is an evil empire, they do a lot of crazy evil shit but you don't need to make stuff up or believe everything bad that is said. It is already bad enough.

My bad it was 3 out of 6 miners who died after going in, they died of a mystery pneumonia...
https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10 ... 81569/full
If you dig around, I’m not doing it for you, you will also find this lead to an increased interest in China for collecting bat samples of which they identified “thousands” of coronavirus strains. I’ll let you work out which lab was collecting them.....
Oh and the pangolin theory is losing credibility in the scientific world too....

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
And I’m not fused what you believe DP ~ the wet market thing is all but dead in the water, the pangolin story much the same. Personally, unlike many, I don’t think the CCP is evil, I think they were doing genuine research, probably for the good of man, but they fucked up and it slipped out of their lab by accident.
That pangolin, if it existed, is likely to have been in their lab, and has of course been disposed of.
There are way too many coincidental things, like denial of access to their lab, now they say they welcome it, after they have cleaned up of course, their online virus database being taken down, just at a time we’re access to more CV strains genomes might be really handy, like the first cases having no link to the wet market, but most of all, the pandemic starting within throwing distance from the lab playing with coronaviruses, a lab that was reported to have poor bio security and poorly trained staff.
Yup all just coincidental.

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
Indeed. Such as a human being who was, due to lax bio controls in the Wuhan institute of Virology, inadvertently infected with the virus and then went food shopping in the Wuhan market.
Edit: inadvertently

Re: Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine approved
I'd say exactly the same as I said a few pages back, that ideally there should have been more communication and better management of vaccine delivery between govts and vaccine suppliers, leading to a scenario where each country/group of countries only receives enough doses initially to cover the most vulnerable groups, no matter how many doses they've ordered.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:59 am I think I said it before. It makes you wonder if it was the other way around, ie Britain now scratching around for vaccine supplies, demanding EU countries give us there supplies and threatening to steal previous orders placed in the UK from EU countries, whether all these people saying its the right thing would be siding with HMG or saying its all their fault and they should be hung...
Or to put it another way, if the EU had signed an exclusivity contract while the UK was struggling to get vaccines, I'd be pretty pissed off with the EU, especially given that most of my family and friends live in the UK.

...and finally. Do you think any country would have gone, “oops our bad, we kind of let that one out...sorry” let alone China, a secretive, authoritarian country who much of the world distrusts enough already. The world would be queuing up for reparations....
