10. I’ve read your WHO piece above. The general consensus is; it’s better to get the first dose out to as many as possible now. I will be much safer having one dose ( anything >50% is really good from a vaccine perspective) and I’d rather more people got at least the first dose than more people experienced being proned in icu.
It’s also really questionable whether the 6, 10, 12 week wait is valid with regards to absolute efficacious modality.

Cheers for the reply. If its good enough for you in your role, it'll hopefully allay my In-Laws fears. Lots of fear mongering about today, focusing on it'll be useless after 6 weeks and 0.01seconds etc.

So ‘lulz’ but I feel dreadful today. This is to be expected and welcomed as my body is doing its thing. Apparently going to be like this for a couple of days.

Moderna vaccinations on hold here owing to one batch sending a bunch of people to the hospital with some kind of reaction.

Even if the vaccine isn't perfect I suspect it's less likely to fuck you in the arse than long covid (or regular covid for the TE).

What if she can't get the second dose for ages and that somehow banjaxes it?
Then Covid could come and get her, very much like House of Pain.
She should have pushed over a few TEs and grabbed a second dose.

If I were nearer I'd be offering to take these olds until I'd had my two. Then the rest I'd off on gumtree.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 9:00 pmWhat if she can't get the second dose for ages and that somehow banjaxes it?

Just if anyone was interested- no further noticeable side effects after first day. All is well.

I don't think it works like. Friend of mine is 58 and got it for the same reasons DT's friend did. She is now on the list for her second jab within the same time scale as the people she took there. Once you're on the bookings system, it seems to generate your date for your second jab automatically.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 9:00 pmWhat if she can't get the second dose for ages and that somehow banjaxes it?

Sounds like Deffy can stock up on the vaccine and I can get the G/F to do the injecting.

Re: Pfizer vaccine approved
Mrs W got her first one before Xmas and was a little bit ropey (headache mainly), she got her second 10 days or so ago and was noticeably worse after that one. Headache, joint pain and just felt pretty shitty. Started about 24 hrs after the second jab and lasted about 60 hours. All good now though. That was the Pfizer flavour.
