Mine seem to work just fine and have lasted so well I can't remember the last time I changed one, maybe you're buying shit ones.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 4:14 pm LED fekking lightbulbs...

Oh do fuck off... do they...
They cost a bomb (coming down but still 10x the cost of a incandescent bulb) and they last less time than I would if given access to Kylie Minogue's knicker slit.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
I had some LED lights built into the garden hard landscaping and remember being told that they would last for years to come with no maintenance. Well, he was right about the maintenance bit, as when they went wrong, which a number have, you can't do owt with them but bin them at a cost of about thirty sheets each.
Got to them point where I bought a few spares, which is just as well as I noticed another one is on its last legs recently. I'd guess that four out of six have been replaced in maybe 6 or 7 years. No water ingress issues AFAICT, just seems to be the drivers pack up.
I have some pathway LEDs on the front as well. Don't get me started on how many drivers I've replaced there, but that's kind of my own fault as they're buried and those waterproof boxes are rarely as good as they're made out to be. Bad planning on my part.

Same here. I get mine online from LED hut or Amazon and we have replaced a couple over the years but that's it. I have 3 outside lights that are in from dusk to dawn and they've been working fine for years. When they were incandescent bulbs I used to have to change then quite regularly.JamJar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 10:53 amMine seem to work just fine and have lasted so well I can't remember the last time I changed one, maybe you're buying shit ones.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 4:14 pm LED fekking lightbulbs...

Wratty, we had philips ones in our lamps in the lounge and they didn't last long at all. I replaced them with no named make cheaper ones from Amazon or LED hut and they're still going strong?

The carbon "add-ons" are the ones that tickle me.
"Yebbut its light innit"
Hmm... but all you have done is added the weight of the carbon add-on

Most carbon replacement bits are gonna be heavier than the plastic alternative. Carbon composites are denser than pure polymers, to get a mass saving you have to take advantage of the higher stiffness/strength of the composite and make things thinner....which most cheap(ish) stuff doesn't do.
Even factory fit stuff is generally one ply of the classic lightweight woven material backed with a couple of heavyweight plies to bring the cost down, they are often glass plies on the back too. You've got to be getting quite fancy before the carbon stuff is superior to the stock plastic

I'm sure that, if he has his [large chap] body hanging off, that he rides to keep the combined bike and rider CoG, so meaning that the bike itself isn't leant so far - with consequent reduced tyre wear.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:13 am I have an example of this (I hope its no one in here lol) Saw this "large chap" on this carbon monstrosity, bragging about how he was the next Rossi and his bike was way much betterererer etc

When I buy something online and it gets delivered to my house but after finding out it's broken I then need to return it through a Post Office that is rarely open and has long queues.

Squirty Cream.
It's not cream is it? It needs to be re-branded as "AeroMilk", "I Can't Believe It's Cream Because It's Not" or even "Weightwatchers Whipped Cream - 99% calorie free air with the delicious aftertaste of aerosol". When having my next Facebook friends cull I would gladly get rid of any friends who buy this stuff, if only I knew who they were. If I see "Whipped cream" on a menu and get served canned cream the eatery is boycotted.
Just got my usual weekly treat of pancakes delivered by Deliveroo, I ordered whipped cream (+£1.40) and what I got was a cup of deflated fluffy milk. Struck off!!!
AYW Over and out.
