What will 2022 bring?

Will we all jet of around the world as before?
Will there be any airlines to take us, or hotels to accommodate us?
Will the rest of the world be safe too? Will they have variants of Covid that our vaccine doesn't protect against?
Will they welcome us, or will they be locked down and scared of strangers?
1.No idea
2.No
3.No
4.No and probably yes
5.No and yes
That's Wales sorted. What about the rest of the world?

We haven't been on a foreign holiday for a few years. We bought a campervan in 2015 and have used that for all our holidays since. We are getting properly old :(

I hope not, only for special occasions.
For the wealthy and those who have saved like mad. Cheap holidays will be a thing of the past.
Probably in time, vaccines take time to be procured for third world countries due to expense and the fact that 1st world buy them all up
Money talks, places will be keen to kickstart economies, but will probably only take vaccinated travellers.

Like most people we know, this year is currently written off for holidays and we'll just enjoy meeting up with family and friends again.
I remember people saying this last year ...oh it’s only one year, it’s only for a few months, next year will be different..

Sadly, I don’t think many of us will live long enough to see a future where the government lets go of the reins and wecan resume travelling freely .. the future looks grim, and is as much to do with the way that it’s been handled as the virus itself ..

People are acting like these vaccinations will solve CV-19, and that's very unlikely. There is a very real risk one of the mutations may turn it really deadly. The 2003 SARS-COV had a death rate of close to 10%, but not the transmissibility of SARS-COV-2, which seems to have a death rate of around 2.6%. A 10% death rate on something as transmittable as CV-19 is a scary thought.

If we are lucky, it will peter out, but the signs for that aint all that promising at the moment, because it is so easily transmitted, and with all our best efforts, its still running rampant, and there are already thousands of variants, it is more luck than anything one of these hasn't turned out to be more like MERS-COV or SARS-COV in terms of fatality rates, or simply nulls the protection offered by vaccination.

...and with that beacon of hope. I'll be off... :shifty:

The only way I know of not getting old is to die when young and I'm too old for that.

Ah, I just went with refusing to "grow up", getting old is kind of compulsory... unless you want to be dead.

So you can fuck off now.

I think you are also too late. My plan is to be old for a very long time. I have a lot of silliness to get through before I'm done. Of course I know "The best laid plans...."
